NSW trainers Peter and Paul Snowden terminate training partnership

The partnership atop New South Wales-based training group Snowden Racing has decided to part ways. According to a statement from the firm, father and son duo Peter and Paul Snowden have made the decision to dissolve their partnership after the current racing season ends this July.  
 
Paul will be leaving the racing business. Snowden Racing assured its clients, suppliers, and workers that things would be business as usual following Paul’s departure.

Father & son terminate partnership 

Early on Thursday, Snowden Racing made the shock announcement that they would be terminating their relationship with partner Paul Snowden, the son of fellow Snowden partner, Peter.  
 
In a statement published on X addressed to clients, suppliers, and the racing fraternity writ large, Peter Snowden announced that “Peter & Paul Snowden will dissolve at the conclusion of the 2023/24 racing season 
 
“Paul has a young family to care for and we have mutually decided that it is the right time for him to take a step back and be able to focus on them, 
 
“Since the establishment of Snowden Racing in 2014, we have had some incredible success together and Paul’s contribution to the business will be hugely missed.” 

Snowden Racing profile 

Founded in 2014, Snowden Racing was the brainchild of father and son duo Peter and Paul Snowden. In that time, the training partnership has emerged as one of the Sydney metropolitan area’s racing teams. 
 
Team Snowden have won nearly 30 races in Sydney just this season. Star runner Touristic is one of the betting sites’ main dark horses for this Sunday’s Listed McKell Cup (2000m) at Rosehill Gardens.  
 
Fellow top racer Coco Jamboo will run in the upcoming Group 1 Tattersalls Tiara (1400m) at Eagle Farm Racecourse on Saturday. Listed at $16, Coco Jamboo is well behind favourite Bella Nipotina at $2.10. However, compared to the rest of the field, Coco Jamboo is good value to place at the big Group 1 race.  

“Business as usual” for Snowden Racing 

Despite the major shake up at the top of his training outfit, Peter Snowden says that business will be “business as usual” following Paul’s departure.  
 
“As for Snowden Racing, it will be business as usual at our Royal Randwick and Flemington Stables as we continue to strive for success and provide results for our owners,” Peter Snowden said in a statement.  
 
“We look forward to sharing this with you all in the 2024/25 season ahead.”
