Bendigo Betting Strategy Types

Want to develop a betting strategy for betting at Bendigo Racecourse but not sure where to start? Well, you’re in luck because we go through some of the most popular bet types that form a major part of your betting strategy when it comes to Bendigo race tips for today.

Some of the most interesting bet types that you can play around with include:

Multi

A Multi is one of the most popular bet types mostly due to the freedom you get when you use it. Multis aren’t restricted to just horse racing either, you can add heaps of different legs to your Multi from a range of different sporting and racing events.

The more legs you include in your Multi, the more difficult it usually is to land, but you’ll notice the potential payout for the bet increase as you add more legs in. The more established bookies will allow for more markets to be included in your Multi.

Win Bet

If you’re looking for something very simple, you can’t go wrong with a Win Bet. You’ll see most of the Bendigo race tips going around will focus mainly on this bet type, due to its simplicity. The Win Bet is perfect for those just getting started in the world of horse racing betting.

To be successful with a Win Bet, all you need to do is pick the horse you think will win the race and that horse crosses the finishing post in first place. You don’t need to worry about anything else and you can focus on watching the horse you backed hopefully make its way through the field to win.

Quadrella

A Quadrella, or Quaddie, is one of the most popular bet types, but it isn’t popular due to its simplicity, it is so popular due to the massive payout potential. Many will include a Quaddie as the best bet in their Saturday tips because if it lands, you’ll have a lot of cash to splash.

For a Quaddie, you are required to pick the winner of four consecutive races on the card at Bendigo Racecourse. It is usually difficult to pick the winner of just one race, let alone four, which is why the payout potential is so high.

Bendigo Racecourse History

First opening in 1864, the racecourse has a long history and has seen many changes throughout the years. The track was also used as a training camp for recruits during both the First and Second World Wars.

The most popular day at Bendigo Racecourse is Bendigo Cup Day, which is a public holiday for locals. The grandstand built in 1902 is one of the most beautiful grandstands in the state, which was built with the assistance of local architect, Ernest J. Keogh.

The Bendigo Jockey Club operates out of Bendigo Racecourse and the club was formed in 1858. Each year, the track hosts over 20 race meetings and it is the perfect place to go for something a little bit different from all the other tracks around the country.

Bendigo Racecourse Race Distance Guide

The race distance is important to note, so if you’re looking at Bendigo race tips for today, make sure they take the distance into consideration. The starting point of the race and its location on the track will dictate how important barriers are.

All the most common race distances at Bendigo Racecourse are explored further:

Distance:Guide:
900mAt just 900m, runners start from a chute and are fed onto the course proper in the middle of the final turn. This gives a fairly sizable advantage to inside barriers.
1,100mRunners at this distance start in a similar place as the 900m race, just 200m up the chute, which gives runners a little bit of extra straight before they are fed out into the middle of the first turn.
1,300mHorses start on the course proper for the 1,300m distance races and have a short amount of straight to contend with before the first and final turn, giving inside barriers more of an advantage.
1,400mSimilar to the 1,300m race distance except runners have an extra 100m of straight before the first and final turn.
1,500mAgain, similar to the 1,400m race distance except runners have an additional 100m of straight before they have to make the first and final turn of the race.
1,600mRunners at this distance start in a chute just off the course proper and this gives them the entire back straight to sort themselves out before the first and final turn. Inside barriers lose most of their advantage here.
2,000mAt this distance, runners start in the same chute as runners in the 1,110m races, but not as far back. They have a small amount of distance in the chute before they are fed out into the middle of the first turn. Horses run down the home straight and then have to complete a full lap of the course.
2,200mRunners at this distance start just before the finishing post and have to complete an entire lap before finishing the race.
2,400mSimilar to the 2,200m distance race except runners have more of the home straight to jostle for position before the first of two turns.
