Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets 13/07/24

OnlyRacing has you covered for Saturday horse racing action at Caulfield and Randwick. We have your best bet of the day as well as a cheeky roughie. I'm heading to Caulfield for my best bet of the day in Race 8. Meanwhile, my roughie of the day is Aramco at Randwick in Race 9. The track conditions at Caulfield are looking decent for racing, its a soft 7 so its recommended to bet on runners that like soft conditions. The Randwick is looking heavy for race day on Saturday so keep that in mind. Let's get into it!

Best Tip: Recommendation #2 Caulfield R8

Recommendation is first-up on Saturday. Has a positive first-up record in its career. Last start, Recommendation was 6th of 12 at Yarra Glen on March 29 over 1200m on a good track, 1.0 lengths behind Savannah Cloud (55.5kg) with 56.5kg at $4.60. But it should improve here. Previously, 6th of 15 at Caulfield Open on February 24, 2024 over 1100m. Good stats at the distance too, bodes well for Saturday. Plenty of winning form on wet tracks.

Stats and Insights

Caulfield Racecourse is a tighter track than Flemington and suits on pacers more until distances past 1600m.
The first 3-4 races in most meetings are called "Maidens" and these races are usually risky and unpredictable. This is because the runners are usually making their debut or have only had a few starts. So it's advisable to stay from these races unless you have a good bankroll.
Randwick is a very wide track with a good run-in that makes it one of the fairest tracks around. It’s hard to say backmarkers are advantaged, but they are the closest thing to advantaged at Randwick Racecourse.
