Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets 18/07/24

Check out the best free horse racing tips and best bets for Thursday's racing at Pakenham Synthetic and Grafton. I like the look of Cable Dancer at Pakenham Synthetic in Race 7. Also, for my roughie bet, I've got my eye on Sparkingly in Race 3 at Grafton. The track conditions at Pakenham Synthetic are looking wet, the track is a heavy 8 due to plenty of rain around the area. The track conditions at Grafton are looking good for racing, the track is a good 4 at this stage. Let's get into it!

Best Roughie: Sparkingly #13 Grafton R3

Last start, beat Willingale (59kg) at Scone over 900m at the starting price of $4.20. That was a good win and I like Sparkingly on Thursday too, especially with Ben Looker on board from barrier 6. Before that, Sparkingly finished first at Parkes in a BM58 on May 19, 2024 over 1000m. Grafton stats are excellent, having not finished outside the top 3 yet. Racing well at the moment, so I like its chances. Good odds to have a bet each-way but I think it can win it.

Stats and Insights

Grafton has a 400m straight with the home turn being a long sweeping turn which gives runners time to position themselves for big runs in the straight.
The first 3-4 races in most meetings are called "Maidens" and these races are usually risky and unpredictable. This is because the runners are usually making their debut or have only had a few starts. So it's advisable to stay from these races unless you have a good bankroll.
Pakenham Synthetic has a full 10 race card on Thursday and the track is a heavy 8 with the track rail out 4 metres entire circuit.
