Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets 24/07/24

Follow along with me for the best free horse racing tips on race day! Wednesday's racing action takes us to Sandown and Canterbury and I have found a best bet for you at betting sites in Australia. There's also a juicy roughie to get on board. La Casona has caught my eye in Race 2 at Sandown. Also, for my roughie bet, I've got my eye on Flying Thinker in Race 4 at Canterbury. The Sandown is looking heavy for race day on Wednesday so keep that in mind. The track conditions at Canterbury are looking good for racing. Let's get into it!

Stats and Insights

Canterbury is a much tighter track than most NSW courses, giving significant advantage to close on pacers and those close to the rail in general. It also favours late rails-in-run horses due to the tight turning nature.
The first 3-4 races in most meetings are called "Maidens" and these races are usually risky and unpredictable. This is because the runners are usually making their debut or have only had a few starts. So it's advisable to stay from these races unless you have a good bankroll.
Sandown racecourse has two tracks, Hillside and Lakeside. This Wednesday, they'll be racing on the Hillside. The 491-metre straight goes uphill, which is great for horses with a strong finish.
