Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets 27/11/24

Check out the free racing tips and best bets for Wednesday's racing at Doomben and Newcastle. I'm heading to Doomben for my best bet of the day in Race 10. Also, for my roughie bet, I've got my eye on California Grass in Race 5 at Newcastle. At Doomben on Wednesday, the track is rated a soft 7 at this stage so should be decent conditions for racing. At Newcastle, the track conditions should be nice for race day, it's a good 4 rating at the moment. Let's get into it!

Last race, Metalart ran a place (2nd) at Doomben over 1350m with Cejay Graham on board, just finishing behind the winner - Torabella (52kg). Should get a lot of confidence from that run and should be a good bet again. Previously, 3rd of 12 at Doomben Rs0MW on October 26, 2024, over 1200m. When Metalart is at this track, it usually shines and I think it can do it again. The 1350m should be nice for this runner on Wednesday. Metalart usually likes running in these types of conditions as well.

In good form and has strong claims to win or place on Wednesday. Last start was a good one, placing 2nd in a BM78 at Rosehill over 2400m. Previously, 4th of 9 at Warwick Farm BM72 on October 23, 2024 over 2140m. Solid top 3 record at track, have a crack. Should enjoy the longer distance (2300m) as she struggled under 2000m a few months ago. So trainer John Thompson seems to have the found the right strategy for her.

Last Saturday was another great day of racing around Australia and it was headlined by The Gong (1600m) at Kembla Grange. Gringotts, trained by  Ciaron Maher, held off the field to win by 0.8 lengths in a stunning finish. While over in Perth, Port Lockroy won the Railway Stakes at Ascot Racecourse for the Annabel Neasham stable.

This week, the Group 1 races continue in Western Australia with the Winterbottom Stakes on Saturday afternoon. Horse racing promos are a nice way to get enjoy the action and OldGill is a site I’m using this week. It’s one of the new bookies out there so they don’t have a massive range of features yet. But they have the basics covered when it comes to betting on the races.
