Best Exotic Bets of the Day | 05/12/24

Horse racing betting apps are gearing up for a busy day on Thursday as thoroughbred racing continues across the country. They'll be at Geelong and Townsville and I've got you covered with some exacta bets. Enjoy!

2nd: 1, 3, 7, 6

Cotton Tree: Back from a spell and looking to continue its good showing last prep. He finished off with 2nd place at Flemington in June, just 0.3 lengths behind the winner. He has performed well first-up before and has won before over this trip (1726m).

The Western Front: Coming off a win at this track over 1535m and has been impressive in his 3 career starts. Should run well again from this Barrier.

Morrissette: Last start, it tried hard but was outgunned, finishing 4th of 10 at Caulfield Heath in a BM64 over 1600m, 1.8 lengths behind Disturbia (60kg). I expect this runner to finish strong and should offer good value odds for punters on Thursday.

King Of Wessex: In its last race, King Of Wessex was 4th at Bendigo on November 13 over 1600m, just 4.1 lengths behind Subarctic (59kg). This should be another race where I think it can potentially improve and get over the field.

Lunar Module: Racing well at the moment and should get into the top 2 here. Comes off a nice win at Ballarat and previously finished 2nd at Sale. Yet to place at this track but has finished 2nd twice at this distance. The trip and track should suit.

A Good Yarn: In its latest run at Ballarat BM58 on November 4, it held its ground and snagged 4th place out of 8, not too bad.

Du Clisson: On debut, won at Dunkeld over 1000m so that should be a decent form guide for this race.

Sea Mist: On November 15 at Moonee Valley in a BM64 over 1200m, Sea Mist started slow and finished 12 out of 12, while carrying 55.5kg at $19.00 odds. However, I think this race is more suitable and it should be able to put in a better showing.

Catalina Dreaming: Resuming on Thursday and has won first-up before. She has a good track record and usually runs well over this distance. I don’t see her finishing outside of the top 2 in this race either.

Win And Tonic: Ready to hit peak form now. Came 2nd last start at Townsville with Ashley Butler in the saddle.

Mississippi Morn: In its last race, we saw this horse finish 5th of 11 at Mackay in an Open over 1100m. However, I think Mississippi Morn can do a better job here from barrier 13.

Wanderlei: Last run, took down Simple Way (58.5kg) over 1200m at Townsville (starting price: $3.60). I think that was an impressive win, so I'm backing Wanderlei to run well on Thursday, especially from barrier 11 with Graham Kliese in the saddle.
