Last time out at Horsham, Tewkesbury was right up there with the leaders and put in a solid effort. He showed great speed and battled on fairly well. This time, I think it's got a more favourable draw, which should give it a better shot. With that advantage, this horse is definitely among the dangers and one to watch closely. In its last start, Tewkesbury was 61.5kg and ended up finishing 2nd, behind Off His Roca (58kg) over 1800m after being right in the thick of things around the corner. Previously, 2nd of 10 at Ballarat Synthetic BM58 on August 13, 2024, over 1500m. Has finished in the top three over 70% in its career Very good record at the track, watch out for it on Friday. The soft track should pose no problems. In good form at the moment, so hopefully that continues.

I'm a big fan of Terra Mater in Race 5 at Newcastle on Friday. On September 1, won over 1350m at Wyong, carrying 57kg. That was a solid win, so I believe that Terra Mater can win on Friday as well. Before that, Terra Mater finished first at Rosehill in a BM88 on August 17, 2024, over 1200m. Very good record at the track, watch out for it on Friday. Distance shouldn't be an issue either, loves running 1400m. Rates a terrific each-way play, I think.

Coming off back-to-back wins back in March/April. So I think it can run well first-up here in this race. Loves dry conditions, the track at Newcastle should be nice. Likes running second-up, good career record. Nice odds to run a place based on its previous form before a spell.
