I'm backing Perfumist at Canterbury to get the job done in Race 4. I also like the look of Shinesin Race 7 at Canterbury. I also like Dubenenko in Race 7 at Cranbourne to give us a safe bet to end the multi. The track at Cranbourne is looking in good condition, it's rated a good 4 for race day on Friday. In its last race on December 6 at Mudgee, he surged to the front, winning by 3.3 lengths. He carried 57kg and managed to beat Lightning Speed (56kg), which was quite impressive, especially at $1.70 odds. So, it's definitely in top form right now. Before that, Perfumist finished first at Goulburn in a BM58 on November 18, 2024 over 1400m. The track could be a bit tricky but this runner has shown form when it is racing during these conditions Not a lot of queries with this one, it should be able to beat this field.

Shines showed some form at Canterbury last time. In it's last start, Shines placed 3rd out of 12 in a BM72 on November 20 over 1100m, on a good track, just 1.1 lengths behind Accredited (58.5kg) with 59.5kg at $9.00.

Last time out, it finished 3rd out of 10 in the BM64 at Caulfield Heath on November 28. That race was over 1200m on a good track and it came in 1.6 lengths behind Rivkin (62kg). Definitely among the winning chances. Previously, 3rd of 13 at Kyneton BM64 on November 6, 2024 over 1203m. In good form, don't look past it to run a place again.

On the weekend, Western Empire took out the Group 1 Golden Rush over in Western Australia at Ascot Racecourse. It was his 7th win in 15 career starts at the track, so look out for him next time he runs at Ascot. While at Randwick, The Ingham was the feature race of the day and Robusto got the chocolates at huge odds of $27. Hope you had some of that.
