Irish flyer Deny Knowledge has managed to get the better of Mr Brightside in the past but this looks to be a taller order at Caulfield. The 2000m trip will be a testing one but Deny Knowledge is a quality operator, who will be able to adapt.

The Waterhouse and Bott yard have been quietly confident about the prospects of Mayfair for a while and this is a big chance to put down a marker. Beating Broadsiding seems unlikely but it could go well if it runs its own race.

A similar story can be told for Angel Capital, a horse that has been mightily impressive of late but is a relative unknown at this level. Caulfield is a track it knows well and if it can get up ahead of steam, it could force its way into the mix.
