Kiwi flyer Lekvarte has tailed off a bit since dominating a couple of years ago but the 6-year-old showed signs of form once again last time out. This is a tall order, in pretty decent company but Lekvarte has the credentials to compete in this one.

VALUE BET - Zloties - $7.00
Graeme Begg has been nurturing Zloties expertly in recent times and this should be a great chance for this horse to step up and mix it. It is untested at this level but it has pace to burn and the trip should be no issue.

Recent form has been a touch patchy by the extremely high standards of I Wish I Win and it is always a serious contender in a race such as this. The trip and the distance look to be a dream fit, it could just be a case of how it runs on the day.

VALUE BET - Storm Boy - $13.00
The mercurial Storm Boy is our one to watch here, in a race littered with talented horses. Whilst recent results haven't perhaps lived up to the hype, Storm Boy is supremely talented and this looks to be the ideal distance.

The form of Fangirl has certainly caught the eye of late and why can't it compete in a field as illustrious and decorated as this. With J-Mac on board, anything seems possible and this should be an epic battle over 1600m.

VALUE BET - Ceolwulf - $7.50
Two wins from its last three starts has propelled Ceolwulf into contention in this one and all of the signs are very good. This is a horse with bags of potential but it could struggle to keep up with the market leaders here.
