Best Bets of the Day

I have horse racing best bets of the day to enjoy for Thursday's racing at Ballarat and Hawkesbury. I'm heading to Ballarat for my best bet of the day in Race 8. I also like the look of So Sleekin Race 5 at Hawkesbury. At Ballarat, the track is rated a soft 6 at this stage so look for runners that like to run on a soft track. The track at Hawkesbury is looking in good condition, it's rated a good 4 for race day on Thursday. Let's get into it!

Best Tip: Hoax #10 Ballarat R8

I like the look of Hoax in Race 8 at Ballarat on Thursday. She is undefeated in 2 career starts. Last start, she won at Hobart over 1100m by a few lengths. Previous to that, she beat a 10 horse maiden field at Launceston. The extra trip on Thursday shouldn’t be an issue and good odds to have a crack at a third straight win, I reckon.

Best Roughie: So Sleek #6 Hawkesbury R5

In its recent race at Randwick-Kensington, So Sleek came in third, not too far behind 1st and 2nd. After that run, it should have a good chance of running a place in this race. Keagan Latham is in good form and should be able to get a good run. Previously, 3rd of 10 at Kembla Grange BM68 on September 28, 2024 over 1600m. In winning form, don't look past it.

Stats and Insights

  • At Ballarat, runners outside of around the ten suffer at least a length’s advantage due to the uniquely challenging nature of the straight.
  • Hawkesbury Racecourse is known to have a very real home track advantage and pro punters have affirmed that there are certain runners that irrespective of their form at other tracks, if they perform historically at Hawkesbury then that form is likely genuine.
  • The first 3-4 races in most meetings are called "Maidens" and these races are usually risky and unpredictable. This is because the runners are usually making their debut or have only had a few starts. So it's advisable to stay from these races unless you have a good bankroll.

It was another epic week of racing last week with some big upsets in the Group 1 races on Saturday. The highlights were Duke De Sessa took out the Caulfield Cup on the weekend and Bella Nipotina won a nail-biter in The Everest. This Saturday is Cox Plate day at Moonee Valley Racecourse and Prognosis is the current favourite.

There are plenty of ways to enjoy the action, such as live streaming and of course, horse racing promotions. One site that I like this week is Dabble, which is the only exclusive social betting app in Australia. Some things that I think you will enjoy are bet boosts for all races, including the Cox Plate. So you can boost the odds of your favourite runner. They also provide the Sky Racing live stream so you can watch the action from anywhere with an internet connection.

Betting on the races is truly unique at Dabble, as it allows you to copy other punters or get paid if someone copies your bet. Along with fast withdrawals, same race multi, full form guides, stats and a full form guide, betting with Dabble should be a fun experience. Download their app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store today!
