SterlingParker Review

So let’s delve into find out a little more about the latest BetCloud platform bookie, Sterling Parker. I have had a really good ‘play’ with the platform so as to be able to put together a comprehensive review and give you the reader an honest appraisal of what the Sterling Parker bookmaker does well and where it might come up a little short.

There’s a few similar bookmakers built on the same BetCloud platform so a big thing that any betting site needs to do like Sterling Parker, is differentiate itself somehow through its branding and look.  You can see in the screenshot below that the black and gold dominated colourway is very striking and the site positions itself as high end and classy.  The line when you first open the app ‘Elevate Your Game - Step Into A World of Class’ just confirms that.

I have to say I like the look and feel of the site - it's easy on the eye and it does exude class.  That said, there’s more to a betting site than the look and feel and in the rest of this review I’ll focus on things like the betting markets and features that punters are really interested in when it comes to selecting a bookmaker to bet with online.

So without any further ado let’s get into it.

🐴Betting Offerings - 8/10

Sterling Parker  has all the essential bases covered for us punters:

• Domestic / Australian Racing: All codes - horses, harness and greyhounds - with everything from midweek regional meetings to the biggest Group One Saturdays.
• Global Racing: More and more international racing is available if you are keen to bet on racing from around the globe.
• Australian and International Sports: All the big Aussie sport - Rugby League, Aussie Rules and Cricket - and the best of sport from all over the world - Soccer, Baseball, Basketball, Ice Hockey, NFL and more.

💳Banking Options - 5/10

I have to be honest here and say that the banking options are a little limited.  I can’t argue with the fact that it is easy enough to get the job done but all you have is for Deposits - Visa and Mastercard - and bank transfers for Withdrawals.  

📱Mobile Experience - 9/10

It’s a solid 9/10 for the mobile experience as the Sterling Parker app is definitely top notch in my opinion.  I’ve found it easy to navigate and get your bets on with minimal need to work too hard through pages.  Simplicity is the name of the game with the app and it works!

💸​Withdraw Speed - 6/10

Well here, as mentioned above with the banking options, you’ll have to settle for a one option only withdrawal type, and a timeframe of 1-3 business days.  But it’s reliable and secure and withdrawals are easy enough to execute via the bank transfer method.

🧩Overall User Experience - 7/10

The online Sterling Parker bookmaker delivers a very sophisticated and enticing experience for the punter such that you really enjoy using the site and / or the app.  I’ve highlighted some of the things that make it so below:

• User-Friendly Interface: Navigation on Sterling Parker is designed with ‘the user’ in mind, ensuring ease of access to betting markets and account features.

• Elegant and Practical Design: Sterling Parker achieves a perfect balance between its sophisticated appearance and practical usability, making for an inviting and more than satisfactory interaction whenever you use it.

📧Customer Support - 5/10

As and when I have needed to use Customer Support the Live Chat during extended main business hours - 8am til midnight AEST - has been super quick to respond.  Outside of those hours there is email support.

I guess I’ve marked it down a little as there is not any phone option for either support or bet placement and for some people that is important.  

🔒Security- 9/10

Sterling Parker, like all Australian bookmakers, is highly regulated and that is all you really need to know in order to have faith in dealing with them.  Australian regulations mean that all betting operators working under them are very safe and secure.

Racing is one hundred per cent the main focus of Sterling Parker and all in all it’s a very decent offering.  There are a couple of slight misses within what’s on offer, most notably the lack of any real form guide and tipping and the fact that unlike many betting sites you can’t place any live bets.  If you are keen to get some pointers and direction for your betting then check out the free horse racing tips here on OnlyRacing.com.au.

The lacking areas aside, Sterling Parker has a comprehensive racing offering: 

• Racing from All Over the World: Obviously all Australian racing is offered and on top of that there really is no corner of the world left out.  As I write, on a Sunday, there’s racing from 14 countries on offer! 
• Tote Betting: For Aussie racing there is a Mid Tote bet on offer on all races with the bigger meetings (Saturdays) having a Best Tote.
• Exotics: All your favourite exotics are offered on all the Australian race codes, which to be fair is a bare minimum these days.

Like I said, Sterling Parker’s racing offering is good enough and combined with the simple functionality of the site it makes it a good betting site to play with.

I really like the Sterling Parker app!  It’s an out and out winner from the moment you hit the classy welcome screen as pictured below.

Over and above the classy look it’s the functionality and ease of use that the app offers which gives it such a big tick in my book.  Check some of my highlights listed below:

• Quickbet Feature: I love this feature as you can get a bet away with a couple of clicks and super fast.
• Featured Race: This little gem sits just a little scroll down the home screen and highlights the main race of the day.
• Navigation: Everything is really just a few clicks away - the all important bet placement but also account checking, depositing and withdrawing.  

Sure the app lacks in the areas that the site lacks in overall but as an app experience I can’t really fault it to be honest.  It’s a great app!

There are two stellar features that I really love with Sterling Parker - namely Even Shot and Blended.  So what are they and why?

Blended - this is a unique feature and allows you to back more than one runner in a race.  So if you can’t choose between two runners, then back both.  For me this is something I love as I often find myself looking at a race and wanting to back more than one runner.  With Blended it’s as easy as selecting the runners and placing your stake.

I’ve added a quick screenshot below which shows an example of a blended bet where I backed both the 11 and 12 in a race at Mudgee.

Even Shot - this is a fun way to bet as Sterling Parker offers up an even shot bet on a race.  Basically this gives you a $2 price for a runner to maybe finish in the top 2,3, or 4 in a race.  I like the fact that this feature offers something a little different and a way to have a bet in a race that otherwise you might not have so much interest in.

There's a few other features that I like too on Sterling Parker, but they are fairly traditional and you’d expect to find them on most betting platforms in 2024.  But here they are as follows:

First Past The Post: This is a good one and certainly makes that dreaded ‘protest’ irrelevant if you've backed the winner.
Same Game Multis (SGM): This gives you the ability to create a bet using a range of markets within a single sporting event.
Same Race Multis (SRM): Similar to the SGM above you can create a bet involving a few markets within a single race.

With a few tweaks in some of the areas that Sterling Parker is lacking I think it could really step up even more.  The emphasis across the whole site is on simplicity and ease of use which on many levels is great, but it does mean there’s a few missing links.  Take for example the fact that there are no live betting or cash out options.  These seem to me to be fairly simple features to include that are available on a lot of other betting sites and if Sterling Parker were to include them that’d be an easy upgrade.  This is all in my opinion of course.  With or without these additions I still think that the overall product / feature set with this bookie is decent.

Sterling Parker Australia provides the punter with pretty much what they want in terms of betting markets.  You can basically break it down in to 3 x sections as follows:

Australian Racing: Sterling Parker offers comprehensive coverage of Australian racing, from the excitement of Group One races to the daily action in harness and greyhound racing with all the betting markets that you’d hope to find - fixed odds win and place form the mainstay but there is tote betting and exotics, and of course the Same Race Multis that are becoming more and more popular.

International Racing: There’s no doubt that there is a lot of global racing covered but the betting markets are more limited to fixed odds win and place only, which is pretty similar to most other betting sites.

Sports Betting: Sterling Parker caters to sports enthusiasts with a wide selection of markets across popular Australian codes like NRL and AFL, as well as international favourites including NFL, NBA, MLB, and Premier League soccer.  The betting markets on some of the bigger sports like the latter are very extensive too.  I counted a whopping 437 markets offered on one of the higher profile EPL games and of course it is this kind of depth of market offering which makes the Same Game Multi bet product so popular.

All Australian bookmakers are restricted by the regulations that they comply which prohibit any offering of promotions and bonuses to ‘would be’ new customers.  Obviously these same regulations give you the safety and security to bet with these platforms but the trade off is that there are no juicy bonuses to find.

However, once you have signed up they do have a Promos section on the site that you can duck in from time to time to see if there is anything being offered.  The restrictions do not stop Sterling Parker from offering bonuses to existing customers.

How to Deposit

Once you have signed up you’ll see an account balance top right (circled in the screenshot below)

Click on there and you can load your account with a credit card - Visa or Mastercard.

How to Withdraw

Two options here.  Either go through the same account balance option as for depositing above or you can click on the My Account under Quick Links on the left hand side of the screen.

In the Withdraw section you’ll see just how much of your funds are available to withdraw and you can make a withdrawal by Bank Transfer.

This really is a very simple and easy online bookmaker to use and I only had one reason to make any contact since starting to use it.  I did so via the Live Chat (available from 8am till midnight AEST) and they were super quick to respond. Outside of those hours, email support is also available - [email protected]. 

Could they offer more?  Maybe phone for sure and some people might prefer that, but I haven’t missed it to be totally honest.

Look, I'm a fan of Sterling Parker partly due to the classy and sophisticated look and overall branding but equally because of its simplicity and ease of use.   The downside from the latter is that the site lacks in a few areas like more extensive banking options and things like no live betting and / or cash out options.

But hey it’s still a decent site and you should probably sign up for yourself at sterlingparker.com.au and give it a go!
