By contrast, On Patrol is much more experienced at the same age but doesn't have the standout results on its record to match. It has been travelling well in recent weeks though and it likes it here at Ascot.

Another well versed horse at this level is Ain't No Other Man, who won well last time out and is consequently bang in the hunt here. Consistency has long been an issue but it has the pace to compete.

The form of Simply has been sublime of late and it looks unstoppable at this level, especially here at Ascot. It has won its last two outings and with William Pike on board, another triumph looks to be in the offing here.

THE DANGER - I Love Your Smile - $8.50
Challenging Simply is no easy task but I Love Your Smile has the credentials to run it close. Over 2200m, this horse should be bang in its element, it will just be a case of staying in touch and hoping for a mistake.

VALUE BET - Ryewood - $8.50
Similarly, Ryewood is looking to show that it means business in this one and fresh off a win here at Ascot last time out, confidence should be high. However, usurping Simply is a tall order but it looks a good price to place.

A horse even earlier in its development is in the mix here, as September Born looks to back up its debut win with another strong showing here at Ascot. It is the unknown quantity in this race and it has the pace to compete over this distance.

VALUE BET - Horcrux - $12.00
Similarly, Horcrux won its only previous race at this level and consequently, it has to be kept in consideration here. The trip and the going should be a great fit and it will be interesting to see if Horcrux can compete in this one.
