We take a look at Waterhouse / Bott’s runner’s chances, star Kiwi mare Imperatriz’s recent trial and the Orr Stakes field for Saturday

It’s been a pretty good start to the year in horse racing betting with our Free horse racing tips have been going quite nicely and as we look towards the end of summer our Autumn Group 1 races season is around the corner. As for Saturday’s racing our tips went well across the Aussie betting sites as we picked up a few winners even if our best bets tips didn’t go so well. Our exotics tips also went quite nicely and this article dives into Waterhouse and Bott’s promising juvenile’s prospects this weekend, star Kiwi Imperatriz’s recent trial and the full field for the Group 1 Orr Stakes.

Gai/Bott’s Inglis Millenium Favourite draws poorly

Adrian Bott and Gai Waterhouse have been absolutely blitzing Saturday racing this Season in Sydney in regards to their Juvenile’s but their top seed drew a horrendous barrier in Saturday’s Inglis Millennium at Randwick.

The seed being Fully Lit who we had a couple weeks back in our Saturday Tips when he made his debut at the races as a $3.00 favourite across the Aussie betting sites in the $2 million feature of the day and was an extremely impressive all the way winner then.

He has now drawn the car park however with a barrier 17 draw, being the second from the outside which will make it very tough to win in this 16 horse field. His stablemate, Trunk, lines up a lot better from barrier five however.

The Inglis Millennium is only entering its fifth year of running but the stable are yet to claim this race and it will be interesting to see how they approach it now, given their no.1 seed has drawn so poorly.

As for a look around the Australian Betting sites, second favourite Odinson for Maher and Eustace was $5.00 in the market and has now drawn gate four so look out for him.

Imperatriz’s Trial Underwhelming

The breakout start mare from New Zealand Imperatriz stepped out alongside her Lightning Stakes rivals in a Cranbourne trial on Monday morning where she struggled to keep up with them but the stable doesn’t seem to be stressed.

The now eight time Group 1 races winning horse finished in fifth behind Cinderella Days in an 800m heat.

Walker’s horse was close to the front until the last 300m before dropping off whilst some other talented stars jetted away late.

"She didn't put in her usual effort and Mark and I see that she gets a little bit accustomed to her routine and gets a bit lazy in her work sometimes.", said Gleeson, Te Akau Racing’s Melbourne rep.

It should be noted it was as hot as 40 degrees on the day she trialled and the horse has likely never experienced a day that hot in her life, certainly not in New Zealand.

The Vet check post trial showed everything was fine with her and she is set for another trial prior to the Lightning Stakes next Saturday.

She is currently still a $1.90 favourite across the Aussie betting sites for the Lightning Stakes.
