All-Star Mile, The Everest upgraded to Group 1 status for 2024/25 season
Racing Australia has confirmed that the All-Star Mile and The Everest will be Group 1 races for the 2024/25 horse racing and beyond. The decision has also been ratified by the Asian Racing Federation.

James Cummings and Godolphin Racing’s Traffic Warden has been selected to run in The Everest at Randwick Racecourse on 19 October. The three-year-old son of Street Boss is one of the betting favourites to win the $20 million race.

Airman upsets the odds to win Premiere Stakes against top competition
Airman narrowly won the Group 2 Premiere Stakes (1200m) at Randwick Racecourse on Saturday. The five-year-old gelding beat out some of the biggest Everest contenders, including Bella Nipotina, Giga Kick, and Think About It. Airman is now in contention for The Everest.

Ben, JD, and Will Hayes of the Lindsay Park training team say their star, Arkansaw Kid, could run in The Everest and Golden Eagle races back-to-back starts. These are two of Australia’s richest races and both would be a big test for the gelding.
