I have horse racing best bets of the day to enjoy for Friday's racing at Canterbury and Moonee Valley. I'm heading to Canterbury for my best bet of the day in Race 6. Kerguelen has been impressive in his short racing career and should be tough to match in this field. He comes off a 3 month break and has won before when he was first-up before. In his career, he hasn’t finished outside the top 2, so he has been a reliable bet for punters. Nash Rawiller on board for the first time and he should get a good run from the #1 Barrier.

In its last race at Moonee Valley on October 25, it came out on top with a winning margin of a nose. It was carrying 60.5kg and held off Moon And Back (57kg), which was pretty good to watch at $8.50 odds. So, it's looking in good touch for this race. Before that, Port Albert finished first at Seymour in a BM74 on October 13, 2024, over 1100m. He loves running at the Valley with 3 wins in 7 starts, so this is his fortress. Also likes the distance with a 3-1-4 career record in 14 starts.

Last weekend we witnessed five quality Group 1 races at Flemington and Rosehill. Mr Brightside held on to win the Champions Mile and Via Sistina continued her winning ways in the Champions Stakes. This week, the Spring Racing carnival continues with the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes, Thousand Guineas and The Hunter. Another Wil is the current favourite to win the Stakes and Aeliana is currently a short-priced favourite to win the Guineas.
