Southport Tycoon looks like a solid contender in Moonee Valley Race 7, with a lot of positives going for him. The horse has completed two races at Moonee Valley winning once and finishing second. The horse shows better results on tight courses.

His recent record at 1200m distance proves he handles this length well with two winning runs along with an additional place effort from five races. He demonstrated good form in his last run from barrier 12 to finish fourth at Caulfield. Running from barrier 2 at 1200m should allow him to use his abilities better than before.

Jockey Mark Zahra continues the ride and this good ground has proved beneficial for him because he has won and finished second three times each out of ten races on similar track condition.

Tiger Shark is an interesting roughie with some strong points that make her worth considering in Gold Coast Race 6. From her past three races at 1100m, she has earned two wins which brings her win rate to 66.7%.

She performed well at Eagle Farm in her last race over 1000m when she finished second from a difficult wide starting gate number 10. Her recent results show she's entering peak fitness. Bailey Wheeler wins trust through his successful rides with her resulting in one win and one runner-up position.

Moving to the 1100m track with a 5 track rating, should help with her overall performance even though she needs to prove herself on these conditions. She handles different racing situations well as her main advantage. Despite getting barrier 10 she should perform well because she knows how to handle wide starts when the early race speed is favourable.
