Kuroyanagi showed promise on July 27 at Morphettville, placing 2nd out of 13 in an Open on a soft track, just 0.2 lengths behind Lingani (57kg) with 52kg at $4.80. After that race, I think Kuroyanagi can potentially improve and possibly get the win this time. Likes running at Caulfield, among the dangers for sure. Loves the distance and I hope that continues over the 1100m. Loves dry conditions, the track at Caulfield should be nice. Likes running first-up. In winning form, don't look past it.

Best Roughie: Autumnmation #13 Rosehill R5
Autumnmation showed some form at Rosehill last time. In its last start, Autumnmation placed 3rd out of 7 in a BM72 on August 3 over 1500m, on a good track, just 0.9 lengths behind Until Valhalla (58kg) with 56kg at $7.50. Previously, 3rd of 8 at Randwick-Kensington BM72 on July 17, 2024 over 1550m. Rosehill's stats are excellent, having not finished outside the top 3 yet. Racing well at the moment, so I like its chances of running a place for an each-way bet.

- Caulfield Racecourse is a tighter track than Flemington and suits on pacers more until distances past 1600m.
- It has been noted by stewards and sharp punters recently that being on pace and close to the rail has been the best place/places to be at Rosehill in recent times, a track that is known to change every couple months in terms of bias so take good note of that.
- The first 3-4 races in most meetings are called "Maidens" and these races are usually risky and unpredictable. This is because the runners are usually making their debut or have only had a few starts. So it's advisable to stay from these races unless you have a good bankroll.
