The opening contest on the card here at Werribee promises to be a tight one and Legatus looks to be the one to beat.
There are plenty of horses in the mix here, all with credentials but a comprehensive win at Moe last time out is a huge tick in the box for Legatus, who could be ready to string some wins together at this level.
Make Us Proud is an Irish flyer in with a shout but Legatus is our horse to beat in the opener.

Pounding has bagged over $1 million in prize money for connections and remains a fiercely quick horse at the age of 6.
Form of late doesn't jump off the card but it has been up against some of the very best horses in the land and this is a step down in quality at Werribee.
That said, there are some very good horses here, with Nugget perhaps likely to lead them but Pounding is a classy operator who could easily win this race.
