Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets 05/09/24

Follow along with me for the best free horse racing tips on race day! Thursday's racing action takes us to Cranbourne and Wagga and I have found a best bet for you at betting sites in Australia. There's also a juicy roughie to get on board. I'm heading to Cranbourne for my best bet of the day in Race 6. I also like the look of Sheilain Race 7 at Wagga. The track at Cranbourne is looking in good condition, it's rated a good 4 for race day on Thursday. The track conditions at Wagga are looking good for racing as well. Let's get into it!

Best Tip: Sassy Jenni #6 Cranbourne R6

Sassy Jenni is first-up on Thursday. Has a positive first-up record in its career. Last race was a 3rd place finish at Moonee Valley over 1200m Previously, 1st of 5 at Moonee Valley Open on March 1, 2024, over 1200m. Has good winning form, and should be right up there. Sassy Jenni loves the distance and I hope that continues over the 1200m. Loves dry conditions, the track at Cranbourne should be nice. Previous success running first-up in its career and should enjoy the racing conditions at Cranbourne.

Best Roughie: Sheila #10 Wagga R7

With Alysha Warren on board last start, won at Albury (1000m). So hopefully that form continues into Thursday's race. On Thursday, Shaun Guymer is in the saddle and knows how to win. Get on board. Before that, Sheila finished first at Wagga in a BM58 on July 22, 2024 over 1000m. Loves this track, yet to finish outside the top 3. Very good stats when it's racing at this 1200m distance. Has good career stats when it's third-up. Rates a terrific each-way play, I think.

Stats and Insights

Stats at Cranbourne show that barriers four to ten are the best at all distances at Cranbourne.

The longer distances have a steep uphill climb from the 600m to the winning post so look for bigger type horses at Cranbourne.

The first 3-4 races in most meetings are called "Maidens" and these races are usually risky and unpredictable. This is because the runners are usually making their debut or have only had a few starts. So it's advisable to stay from these races unless you have a good bankroll.
