I also like the look of Maxxi Bonin Race 9 at Bendigo. The Taree track is looking decent for race day on Tuesday, it's a soft 6 rating at this stage. At Bendigo on Tuesday, the track is rated a soft 7 at this stage so there should be decent conditions for racing. Let's get into it!

Oakfield Peewee has a solid track record at Taree so I’m targeting him as my best of the day. He comes off a nice win at this track last month over 1600m. He’ll also enjoy the track conditions at Taree on Tuesday. It’s a soft track at this stage and he’s yet to finish outside the top 2 on soft tracks in his career. I don’t see a lot of competition in this field and he should get a nice run from the inside barrier.

In its latest run at Geelong RST64 on July 12, it held its ground and snagged 4th place out of 11, not too bad. Previously, 3rd of 13 at Sale BM64 on June 26, 2024 over 1717m. When he has been first-up before, Maxxi Bon has finished 2nd twice in 4 starts. He’s also a two-time winner at this distance, bodes well for Tuesday’s race. I think he’s a good chance to place in this one or potentially get the win.

The Group 1 races 2024 continue this Saturday with some key races at Randwick in NSW and Ascot, WA. The Ingham takes place at Randwick Racecourse on Saturday over 1600m and there is 2 million in prize money up for grabs. Meanwhile, the Northerly Stakes is the feature race of the day at Ascot.
