Racing action in Australia continues on Friday and Only Racing Australia is here to help you find some winning bets! We've got some cheeky exotic bets for you in this one from some of the best meetings of the day.
Exacta - Geelong - R10
1st: 9, 3, 15, 12
2nd: 9, 3, 15, 12
Guarded Optimist: I like the look of Guarded Optimist in Race 10 at Geelong on Friday. Previously won at Wangaratta over 1300m, carrying 59.5kg. That was a really good win, so I think Guarded Optimist should be tough to beat on Friday too. In winning form, don't look past it.
Cape Doctor: In good form and has strong claims to win on Friday. Last start was a good one, placing 2nd in a BM64 at Bendigo over 1300m. In good form at the moment, so hopefully that continues.
Salchow: On July 4 at Sale in a BM64 over 1415m, Salchow started slow and finished 9th out of 11, while carrying 59kg at $8.50 odds. Doesnt mind running third-up, good record thus far.
Shal Exceed: Previously, it finished 7th of 9 at Pakenham Synthetic in a RST62 on July 18, 2024 over 1200m, 3.5 lengths behind Flying Ace (56kg). Should enjoy running first-up as has been the case in it's career.
Exacta - Lismore - R7
1st: 7, 4, 3, 9
2nd: 7, 4, 3, 9
Highland Hill: In the recent outing for Highland Hill at Gold Coast, he came in third, not far behind the leaders. Now that he's fitter, he's got a solid chance of finishing in the top three again, I think. Ben Looker knows how to handle him too, so don't count him out just yet.
Explicable: Previously won at Ipswich over 1350m, carrying 58kg. That was a nice win, so I think Explicable could take this race as well. Decent record fourth-up so I like it each-way.
Cordozar: Last start, Cordozar was 12 of 12 at Ipswich on July 19 over 1350m on a good track, 9.4 lengths behind King Tarik (61kg) with 58.5kg at $13.00. But it should improve here. Has been good before when it's first-up.
Dazzling Robert: Last time out, it finished 3rd out of 13 in the Cls 1 at Grafton on July 18. That race was over 1400m on a good track and it came in 1.0 lengths behind I Am Convincing (56kg). Definitely among the winning chances. I think its a real genuine each way chance.
Exacta - Mackay - R5
1st: 5, 2, 6, 4
2nd: 5, 2, 6, 4
General Wolffe: General Wolffe showed promise at Rockhampton on July 12, finishing 2nd out of 16 in a BM55 on a soft track, just 1.3 lengths behind Free Carry (62kg) with 59kg at $11.00. With that run under its belt, General Wolffe is expected to improve and I think is a strong contender for this race. I think its a a good each way chance.
Brand New: Last time out at Rockhampton, Brand New was right up there with the leaders and put in a solid effort. He showed great speed and battled on fairly well. This time, I think he's got a more favourable draw, which should give him a better shot. With that advantage, he's definitely among the dangers and one to watch closely. In his last start, Brand New was 54.5kg and ended up finishing 2nd, behind Lucky Exchange (63kg) over 2215m after being right in the thick of things around the corner. Likes running on wet tracks and tomorrow's track should be nice.
Gold Witness: In his latest run at Rockhampton BM55 on July 12, he held his ground and snagged 4th place out of 16, not too bad. Doesn't mind running fourth-up as Gold Witness has proven success when it's in this situation.
Shamuka: On July 11 at Ipswich in a BM58 over 2180m, Shamuka started slow and finished 9th out of 14, while carrying 58.5kg at $16.00 odds. Doesn't mind running fourth-up as Shamuka has proven success when it's in this situation.
