Get ready for some racing action around Australia on Saturday as we look at the top 3 meetings. We have you covered with 3 exacta bets lined up at Flemington, Rosehill and Eagle Farm.
Exacta - Flemington - R8
1st: 6, 4, 2, 7
2nd: 6, 4, 2, 7
Cadmus: Last start, beat Pounding (59kg) at Sandown-Hillside over 1800m at the starting price of $8.50. That was a good win and I like Cadmus on Saturday too, especially with Jye Mcneil on board from barrier 10. In good form at the moment, so hopefully that continues.
Pounding: Her last race saw her finish 8th of 12 at Flemington in a Open over 1600m, 4 lengths behind Miss Tarzy carrying 56kg at $11. However, I think Pounding can do a better job here from barrier 7.
King Magnus: In its last race, King Magnus was 4th at Flemington on July 6 over 1600m, just 2.5 lengths behind Lounge Bar Rubi (54kg). This should be another race where I think it can potentially improve and get over the field.
Wyclif: Last time out, it had a perfect run and won, looking much fitter. This horse knows how to bring the heat and last time out at Caulfield, he showed us exactly what he's made of. With Celine Gaudray in the saddle, he's a force to be reckoned with and could very well take the win again.
Exacta - Rosehill - R6
1st: 9, 7, 2, 1
2nd: 9, 7, 2, 1
In Flight: In his last race on July 13 at Randwick, he surged to the front, winning by 2.0 lengths. He carried 60kg and managed to beat Flag Hall (57kg), which was quite impressive, especially at $2.70 odds. So, it's definitely in top form right now. Rates a terrific each-way play, I think.
Jedibeel: Last time out, he made a late surge and finished a close second over 58.5kg at 58.5kg, just behind the winner. One Destiny (52.5kg). Is definitely one to watch and could be hard to beat. He goes on top for me. In winning form, don't look past it.
Contemporary: I like the look of Contemporary in Race 6 at Rosehill on Saturday. Previously won at Randwick over 1200m, carrying 58kg. That was a really good win, so I think Contemporary should be tough to beat on Saturday too. I think its a real genuine each way chance.
Sivka Burka: In good form and has strong claims to win on Saturday. Last start was a good one, placing 2nd in a Barrier Trial-Open at Beaumont over 800m. Likes running second-up, good record.
Exacta - Eagle Farm - R6
1st: 4, 8, 1, 9
2nd: 4, 8, 1, 9
Millane: In his latest run at Eagle Farm BM85 on June 29, he held his ground and snagged 4th place out of 14, not too bad.
Emperor: Last start, finished 3rd of 8 at Doomben in a Barrier Trial-Open over 1000m, just 3.5 lengths behind Muschialli. Third-up shouldn't be an issue, has looked good this prep.
Hold On Honey: Hold On Honey showed promise at Deagon on July 9, finishing 2nd out of 7 in a Barrier Trial-Open on a soft track, just 0.4 lengths behind Manhood. With that run under its belt, Hold On Honey is expected to improve and I think is a strong contender for this race. The wet track should pose no problems.
Standing Order: Last time out, it finished 3rd out of 11 in the Cls 6 at Ipswich on June 22. That race was over 1350m on a soft track and it came in 1.6 lengths behind Warby (55.5kg). Definitely among the winning chances. Has enjoyed racing third-up in it's career.
