Horse racing betting apps are gearing up for a busy day on Thursday as thoroughbred racing continues across the country. They'll be at Cranbourne and Wagga. I've got you covered with some exacta bets. Enjoy!

Exacta - Cranbourne - R4

1st: 7, 11, 6, 8

2nd: 7, 11, 6, 8

Strike First: Strike First showed promise at Pakenham Synthetic on August 25, finishing 2nd out of 9 in a Mdn on a synthetic track, just 1.0 lengths behind The Tradie (59.5kg) with 59.5kg at $2.25. With that run under its belt, Strike First is expected to improve and I think is a strong contender for this race. Rates a terrific each-way play, I think.

Peak A Boom: Last time this horse hit the track, Peak A Boom put in a good effort and I think it should be a safe bet to place in Thursday's race. With Damian Lane riding, my confidence is high.

Placentia Bay: In its last race at Cranbourne Training on August 26, it came out on top with a winning margin of 1.3 lengths. It was carrying and held off Let'Sbefrankbaby, which was pretty good to watch at odds. So, it's looking in good touch for this race.

The Crying Game: Last race, The Crying Game was 7th out of 10 at Sandown-Lakeside on August 14 on a good track over 1400m, 4.3 lengths behind Delivering (59.5kg) with 59.5kg at $31.00. But it should improve here.

Exacta - Cranbourne - R8

1st: 6, 2, 10, 14

2nd: 6, 2, 10, 14

Fretta: Last start, this horse tried its best but was just not good enough in the end, finishing 4th of 8 at Sandown-Lakeside in a BM64 over 1600m, 2.4 lengths behind Morryl Moral (60.5kg). But I'm backing it to get into the top three this time or maybe even get the win for punters on Thursday. Previous success running first-up in its career and should enjoy the racing conditions at Cranbourne.

Flamin' Romans: Last race was a 3rd place finish at Moonee Valley over 2040m Good stats when it's second-up.

Mr I'm A Believer: Last start, finished 3rd of 8 at Sandown-Lakeside in a BM64 over 2100m, just 1.9 lengths behind Wagga Wagga (60kg) carrying 59.5kg at $3.30. Racing well at the moment, so I like its chances.

Bolshoi Princess: Last race, Bolshoi Princess ran a place (2nd) at Geelong over 1700m with B Mc Dougall on board, just finishing behind the winner - Almonti (58kg).

Exacta - Wagga - R5

1st: 3, 4, 2, 7

2nd: 3, 4, 2, 7

Missouk: Last race, Missouk ran a place (2nd) at Nowra over 1100m with Nick Heywood on board, just finishing behind the winner - Tokyo Ice (56.5kg). Should get a lot of confidence from that run and should be a good bet again.

The Big Shamrock: Finished 4th on August 27 at Seymour. That should be a good form guide for this race. Wet track form reads well too

Miss Ghent: Last time this horse hit the track, Miss Ghent put in a better effort, and that's something to take note of for Thursday's race. With Jeff Penza riding, you know that Miss Ghent has got a jockey who can handle business. Has enjoyed success in wet conditions and the track conditions should be suitable.

Bold Triumph: On August 4 at Wodonga in a RST58 over 1300m, Bold Triumph started slow and finished 9th out of 12, while carrying 59.5kg at $3.60 odds. But it could improve.

Stats and Insights

  • Flexi Betting lets you bet a bit of the full dividend, so you can stick to your budget by taking a smaller cut of the total win.
  • With the Exacta, your payout depends on which of the Aussie TABs is in your area.
  • The Exacta usually pays out more than the Quinella since it's trickier to pick the horses in the right order.
  • Exacta's are a good bet if you're really confident in a horse to win, especially if it's a short-priced favourite.
