Exacta - Ballarat - R7
1st: 4, 9, 2, 5
2nd: 4, 9, 2, 5
Lonely Road: Jack Hill was on board last run and won over 1590m at Wangaratta. So I think that's a good form guide for Thursday's race and should be tough to beat down the straight. In winning form, don't look past it.
Miss Bariloche: Last run, took down Russian Summer (58.5kg) over 1500m at Ballarat Synthetic (starting price: $6.00).I think that was an impressive win, so I'm backing Miss Bariloche to get the win on Thursday, especially from barrier 8 with Jarrod Fry in the saddle. Previously has had plenty of success when it's running third-up, so just another reason to get on board.
Guarded Optimist: At Geelong on July 26, Guarded Optimist finished 8th out of 10, while carrying 59.5kg at $4.40 odds. First-up form looks good.
Top Arctic: Top Arctic showed promise at Sale on July 28, finishing 2nd out of 10 in a BM64 on a heavy track, just 7.5 lengths behind Governor King (59kg) with 58.5kg at $4.20. With that run under its belt, Top Arctic is expected to improve and I think is a strong contender for this race. Has enjoyed success in wet conditions and the track conditions should be suitable.
Exacta - Newcastle - R6
1st: 8, 11, 2, 5
2nd: 8, 11, 2, 5
Maori Chief: Last race at Rosehill, Maori Chief was right up there in the finish, just placing second. He showed some speed and battled on fairly well. In this race, I think it's got another suitable draw, which should make it tough to beat. In its last start, Maori Chief ended up placing 2nd, just behind Winchester over 900m and was right up there. That should be a good form guide for this race and I think it could easily get the win this time.
Bauhinia: Bauhinia showed form on July 24 at Canterbury, placing 2nd out of 9 in a Mdn on a soft track, just 1.5 lengths behind Red Hot Lizzie (58kg) with 56.5kg at $6.50.After that race, I think Bauhinia can potentially improve and possibly get the win this time. Rates a terrific each-way play, I think.
Copacabana: Copacabana showed good form at Rosehill last time. In it's last start, Copacabana placed 3rd out of 8 in a Barrier Trial-Maiden on July 23 over 900m, on a good track, just 4.3 lengths behind Peschiera with at .
Spanish Fox: Its shown it has the ability to be a serious contender and with a bit more luck and a better trip, it’s got a real shot at taking this one. I think its a real genuine each way chance.
Exacta - Moree - R6
1st: 9, 6, 7, 1
2nd: 9, 6, 7, 1
Leica Model: Ready to win now. Finished second last start with C J Hillier on board at Quirindi. Rates a terrific each-way play, I think.
Stock The Rose: Coming off a solid effort at Tamworth, running 4th and just outside the placings. But I think it can likely improve in this race.
Allay: Last time this horse hit the track, Allay put in a better effort, and that's something to take note of for Thursday's race. With Cobi Vitler riding, you know that Allay has got a jockey who can handle business. Has good career stats when it's third-up.
Strelitzia: At Tamworth on June 28, Strelitzia finished 10th out of 10, while carrying 59kg at $11.00 odds. Should enjoy the distance (1400m).
