Best Exotic Bets of the Day | 12/12/24
Exacta - Caulfield Heath - R6
1st: 8, 1, 9, 7
2nd: 8, 1, 9, 7
Gallant Prince: Ready to win now. Finished second last start with Jamie Mott on board at Pakenham. Placed twice when he has been second-up before.
Ruminate: Last race was a 3rd place finish at Moonee Valley over 1600m. He’s very consistent having placed in 3 straight races and won back in August.
Capricorn Star: She has been impressive this prep and I expect the trend to continue. Comes off a 2nd at Geelong and has only fallen out of the top 3 in 1 of her 8 career starts. Also, won before when she was last first-up.
Vienna Vixen: In its last run, Vienna Vixen placed 4th at Cranbourne on November 23 over 1300m, just 1.1 lengths behind Snappy Secret (60kg). I think it can run well here too.
Exacta - Caulfield Heath - R7
1st: 4, 6, 1, 9
2nd: 4, 6, 1, 9
Mytemptation: Last run, took down Li'L Brazen (52kg) over 1000m at Bairnsdale (starting price: $2.30). I think that was an impressive win, so I'm backing Mytemptation to get the win on Thursday, especially from barrier 2 with Craig Williams in the saddle.
Takeko: In its last race on November 18 at Kyneton, he surged to the front, winning by 0.4 lengths. He carried 58kg and managed to beat Snappy Tycoon (58kg), which was quite good to watch, especially at $3.80 odds. So, it's definitely in top form right now.
Tacito: Coming off a win over 1200m at Mornington. So I think that's a good form guide for Thursday's race and should be tough to beat down the straight.
Plaza: Plaza showed some form at Wyong last time. In its last start, Plaza placed 3rd out of 11 in a Cls 1 on November 23 over 1200m, on a good track, just 1.0 lengths behind Candlewick (56.5kg) with 56.5kg at $8.50.
Exacta - Kembla Grange - R7
1st: 14, 9, 18, 5
2nd: 14, 9, 18, 5
Pocketing: Very promising three-year-old. He’s coming off back-to-back minor placings and won on debut. Has placed at this track and distance before too.
Wild Gypsy: It hit the track on November 23 and Wild Gypsy put in a solid effort, finishing 5th out of 11. Thursday's race sees some good odds to have a crack, if it can get a good run.
Missile Seeker: In strong form and has good claims to win on Thursday. Last start was an almost win, finishing 2nd in a BM64 over 1100m at Hawkesbury.
American Starlet: Came 7th of 8 last start but previously won at Wyong. I like her record at the track and she gets a good Barrier draw to be dangerous.
