The Open finished first at Ballarat in a BM84 on December 7, 2024, over 1400m. The 1400m should be nice for this runner on Wednesday. He has 2 wins and 3 seconds over this trip in just 5 starts. Last run, won over 1400m at Kembla Grange. So I think that's a good form guide for Wednesday's race and should be tough to beat down the straight. Before that, Pocketing finished first at Hawkesbury in a Cls 1 on November 28, 2024 over 1300m. Decent win rate in it's career. Likes running in dry conditions. Not a lot of queries with this one, it should be able to beat this field or run a place.

In its recent race at Sunshine Coast Poly, Temper The Storm came in third, not too far behind 1st and 2nd. After that run, it should have a good chance of running a place in this race. Kyle Wilson-Taylor is in good form and should be able to get a good run. Has enjoyed plenty of success at Sunshine Coast with a 100% record of finishing in the top-three. Good stats at the distance too, bodes well for Wednesday. Should get a good run from this barrier, watch it in the straight.
