I think that he's learned from that race and is a strong each-way chance on Thursday. He doesn’t need to improve much to break his maiden.

Absolute Deel kicked off the season with a win at Sale and followed up with a solid run. He’s third-up on Thursday and pace will be crucial. First-up, he settled back and won by 0.8 lengths at Sale Mdn-Sw over 1411m, beating Explicable with 59.5kg at $11. Last start, he finished 2nd of 8 at this track in a Cl1 over 1600m on a slow track, 1.75 lengths behind Nation's Call with 59kg at $8.50. I expect him to finish strong and should offer good value odds to place in Thursday's multi.

Junebug quickened smartly to win at Muswellbrook first-up at short odds. She's fitter now and ready for a strong second-up performance. First-up, she came from midfield to win by 1.3 lengths in a Mdn-Sw over 1280m in the wet, defeating Hoo Haa with 57kg at $1.40. Last second-up effort saw her finish 5th of 7 at Vichy in a 3YO Cond over 2000m, 8 lengths behind Queen Of Fairies with 53.5kg at $7.30. She’s an improver with winning prospects on Thursday.
