Moonee Valley continues to hold an important place in the Australian racing calendar and the Moir Stakes are on the agenda once again this weekend.

Form has been steady for Who Dares too, a horse with so much pace but who can't seem to always channel it into wins. This will be a bit of a free hit in this field and it could surprise a few here.

VALUE BET - A Little Deep - $4.80
Ciaron Maher and Jamie Kah team up on A Little Deep, a horse that has been in fine form but this is a clear step up in quality. It certainly has the credentials to compete though and it could be one to watch.

BEST BET - Evaporate - $2.70
Back-to-back wins ahead of this one for Evaporate certainly make it the one to beat in a high quality contest here at Moonee Valley. Form has been very strong and it loves it over this distance at the valley.

THE DANGER - Captain Barbossa - $3.60
A debut win at Bendigo a couple of weeks ago has propelled Captain Barbossa into contention in this one and the distance should be the perfect fit. Obviously, this is a step up in calibre but it looks to have no ceiling currently.

VALUE BET - Cocobill - $3.70
Kiwi flyer Cocobill as a similar synopsis, winning on debut but this does look to be a tall order to rock up at Moonee Valley and win. That said, there are some inexperienced horses in the shake up and Cocobill looks to have as good a chance as any.

Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott think the world of Lady Of Camelot and following a good break, it should be ready to go here. Being a little undercooked is the concern but it is a quality operator and it should be interesting to see how it goes.

The same could be said of I Wish I Win, who has also been out of action for a few months but it remains one of the best horses around. 1000m wouldn't be its ideal distance but it could certainly compete in this field.
