Saturday Racing Tips - Randwick 26/10/24

The big names assemble once again at Randwick, with yet more Group 1 races on the card.

Following on from a dramatic Everest and King Charles Stakes last weekend, it is the Spring Champion Stakes on everybody's mind here.

Whilst recent performances from High Octane haven't been too hot, it remains a very dangerous horse, particularly over 1200m and if it can put its best food forwards, it should be bang in the hunt here, in what looks to be a very open contest.

VALUE BET - Amazing Eagle - $4.80
Although Amazing Eagle is still chasing a first career win, all the signs of late have been very good and it should be comfortable in this field but it still needs to prove it can get over the line.

Tim Clark looks to be leading the line here for Waterhouse and Bott on board Anode, a horse that won impressively last time out here at Randwick and who is looking to make it two on the bounce this weekend - making it one of our best bets of the day.

THE DANGER - Just Party - $3.20
Competition comes in the form of Just Party, a top quality horse, who continues to churn out the results for connections. Having endured a couple of near misses of late, Just Party will be desperate to bag a win in this one.

VALUE BET - Prost - $9.00
Whilst it is undoubted that the top two in the market will have the measure of most in the field, Prost is one that jumps off the page. Another Waterhouse and Bott horse, it has won well over this distance previously and has the raw pace to compete.

One of the in-form horses of the meeting here at Randwick is Yellow Brick and it will be looking for another big win in the Five Diamonds Prelude. Tim Clark should give it another good ride and is the justified market leader.

Bjorn Baker has been getting a real tune out of Amor Victorious of late and this should be another big chance to grab a race win. Triumphing last time out will be a huge confidence boost and Amor Victorious should go well in here.

Chris Waller has been pushing Osipenko at this level for a couple of years now and it looks ready to repay the faith. This trip at Randwick should be ideal and it could sneak under the radar and land a big race victory here.
