A solid Class 3 with a few chances, However the standout here for me is PARTICIPATOR, who comes off the back of a 2nd placing under similar track conditions under Hugh bowman. He steps up in distance and the extra 100 metres should do him well, Bowman retains the ride. Participator won the penultimate time out at this distance and rates as one of the key chances here. Behind him I have selected the current running favourite Opal Ridge, he has won all races as favourite and has a win and a placing from three runs this prep, nothing new for him here and the field looks largely within his grasp. Quinella?

BEST BET - #4 - PARTICIPATOR
As I have said above, there's a lot to like in this race for Participator and with top jockey Hugh bowman retaining the ride at Randwick on a fresh track I will be sticking with him on top.

VALUE BET - #10 - Xtra Approval
There’s lots to love with Xtra Approval, coming off the back of two fast timed wins at Taree. The form shapes up well with horses from both of those races winning since and we think that despite the step up in competition and the not-so good draw, at the odds he’s worth a shot.

THE DANGER - #8 - Opal Ridge
Can’t knock the form on Opal ridge and likes this cut in the ground. Has won all races as favourite and I know there is definitely going to be some love here. I just think at the odds, Participator has a real crack at taking Opal out. Regardless, definitely the leading hope in the race.

Lord Ardmore was massive in defeat last time out, having been just beaten when heavily backed at Randwick. He has had a cracker start to this campaign, winning twice and finding his way into the placings in all other races. Top jockey Hugh Bowman retains the ride and with the sting out of the ground I believe Lord ardmore could put on a display here. 

BEST BET - #2 LORD ARDMORE
Lord Ardmore comes out on top for me in this race, with solid run times and strong runs during this campaign and top jockey Bowman staying on. I believe a big showing is a strong possibility tomorrow for Lord Ardmore.

VALUE BET - #5 - Through Irish Eyes
Through Irish eyes has seen a solid campaign so far, placing in all 6 races that he has run in and has not been far off the winner in any of them. Blinkers come off for the first time and with even luck expect a solid showing from Through Irish Eyes.

THE DANGER - #1 ARAPHO
Arapho is the real danger in this race, he pulled through in a pretty impressive win in stronger competition than this last time out at Randwick, winning at long odds. Goes well on a softer track and has a 25% strike rate this campaign. Expect to fight out the finish.

The feature race of the day and one that strikes my interest as many of these horses are either returning or 2nd-up. A very strong field with a number of talented runners, this race should be nothing less than entertaining. 

BEST BET - #1 Zaaki
One of the biggest stars in the country, Zaaki, steps back onto the track 1st up after a 14 week spell and off the back of a spectacular last season. Has a more than solid strike rate first up with 3 wins from 8 runs and comes off the back of two solid trials. Putting him on top as my best of this stacked field and expecting nothing less than a place but hoping for a big showing.

VALUE BET - #10 PRIME CANDIDATE
Goes up in distance and should look to roll forward as such. Rachel king and the Baker stable are a winning combination and Prime candidate himself just couldn’t hold on last time out, coming in 2nd to a very impressive showmanship. I believe he is definitely worth at least a sprinkle on and is over the odds. 

THE DANGER - #11 ICEBATH
He’s one of my favourite runners in the country and has been for some time, whilst last season wasn’t an easy one to support the horse for. I’m happy to give him another chance here as gets a good draw, should sit just off the speed and have a solid amount in hand at the turn. He comes off the back of not the best run at randwick but gets the blinkers off now and appears tested. I’m happy to be with him as my danger in the race.
