In a similar vein, Wanderlei has come close for a few consecutive races and it knows how to get around this Townsville track. With no previous winners in this field, this is an open race and Wanderlei does look to be in with a chance for a few punters and betting sites. 

VALUE BET - Kata Kapi - $5.50
One of the most experienced horses in this field is Kata Kapi and connections will be hoping it can finally open its account here at Townsville. It is not without a chance in this open field and an each way punt maybe the way to go.

The favourite for this one at Townsville is Better Al, a consistent performer at this level who has dropped off the pace a little bit but remains the one to beat here in the eyes of many punters and betting sites.

Experienced campaigner Zouhope knows how to get the job done in contests such as this and is good value as a result. This is a very open contest and Zouhope is the value pick for many punters and betting sites.

Local legend Ginger Mick is somewhat of a cult hero at Townsville but it does need a result following some poor showings but it is an enigmatic horse, that could spring a surprise in this packed field.
