BEST BET - #2 Tavistorm (BEST) 
Tavistorm goes on top for me here and I’ll make him my best bet of the day, he rates on top of this small field and comes off the back of a super fast time 4th placing when just couldn’t get clear ground at this track, better for the experience here and fitter, look for Tavistorm to run them down on the straight. 

VALUE BET - #6 - Stately star
Stately star has been running in some weaker company than this but has been running very well this campaign with 2 placings and a win in 4 runs. He looks to be a smart type and I think with the small field it is worth a bet. 

THE DANGER - #3 Hardly Sweet 
Hardly Sweet I pose as my main danger here as he comes into this race with the fastest average splits and gets Michael Dee on board which is a bonus. Maps well and should be storming home.

BEST BET - #3 Ima Shelby (NEXT BEST) 
Ima Shelby has comes into this race with some good form and racing in better company than this, comes off the back of a good 2nd placing at the valley when beginning awkwardly and ran home well despite this. Looks to be well suited in this company and if he can cross and lead early I can see him holding these off.

VALUE BET - #4 - Jaffastock 
Jaffastock is one that strikes my interest as he draws to get a nice run on the speed and has been running fast times without winning this campaign, finds a very winnable race here and I think he has been priced wrong.

THE DANGER - #1 Oceanography 
Oceanography is a talented horse who should be peaking in fitness here 3rd up and should have won last start at Bendigo but found one better, he was slowly away there and the softer track might just assist him here. He draws towards the outside but if he can find some cover he should be giving my other 2 runners a good crack.

BEST BET - #8 Zoutellous (ROUGHIE OF DAY) 
Zoutellous resumed off a long spell at Wangratta last time out, running a solid time and showing a great turn of foot, raced a bit greenly that day and think he will be fitter and better for the experience. Blake shinn jumps on board and he has been absolutely flying this season. Maps slightly awkwardly but backing Blake to smoothen the run and if so we could hit a great pop here!

VALUE BET - #1 -  El Cordobes 
El Cordobes is the clear danger in this race, comes off a 19 weeks spell here after running a strong second placing at the valley, where he drove hard to the line and just missed to a better horse. Has been screaming to break through and finds a softer field and a good jockey for this race. 

THE DANGER - #10 Pyrois 
Pyrois is a horse that strikes my interest, was a dominant winner leading all the way at Newcastle before stepping up to provincial racing and just didn’t look suited at the run at Flemington dropping back in distance. Has been spelled for 6 weeks and is having its first start under the McEvoy camp, backing declan bates and the camp to have better tactics stepping up to the 1300m.
