Caulfield Racecourse Autumn Carnival
Starting from late January, Caulfield Racecourse is host to multiple featured events during the Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival. The major days at Caulfield Racecourse during the Caulfield Autumn Carnival include CF Orr Stakes Day, the first Group 1 race of the calendar year, as well as Blue Diamond Stakes Day, Victoria’s richest race for 2-year-olds.
CF Orr Stakes Day
Held in early February, the first Group 1 race meeting of the year kicks off the Melbourne autumn racing carnival at Caulfield Racecourse, with 8 group grade races on the day including the namesake Group 1 weight-for-age race

Blue Diamond Stakes Day

Caulfield Racecourse Spring Carnival
Caulfield Racecourse again plays a major part in the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival, Australia’s biggest racing carnival. The Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival is held every year from mid-August through to September providing four months of the best racing and betting action for punters.
Caulfield Racecourse hosts a slew of iconic events during the spring carnival offering big prize pools and enticing betting opportunities for punters including the beginning of the Group 1 racing season, the Memsies Stakes, as well as a whole day of black-type racing in the Caulfield Guineas Day.
The spring carnival at Caulfield Racecourse concludes with the track’s biggest race of the year, the $5 million Caulfield Cup, held on the same day as the $15 million The Everest (1200m) in Sydney

The cup is a highly competitive race and an important lead-up to the crown jewel of Melbourne’s spring carnival, the Melbourne Cup, as results in the Caulfield Cup can grant qualification into the Melbourne Cup.
