It was a bit of an all over the show weekend in horse racing betting as we are in the thick of the Group 1 races season and my Saturday tips went okay across the Aussie betting sites as we picked up a few winners even if our best bets tips didn’t go so well. Our exotics tips also went quite nicely and this article dives into Espiona and Kerrin Mcevoy teaming up for The Invitation and Magic Time targeting a win in that same race as well as a brief overall look at the action that takes place on Spring Champion Stakes Day.

McEvoy chasing third The Invitation success

Legendary jockey Kerrin McEvoy has been booked on the early favourite for The Invitation in Espiona as he targets his third success in the $2 million feature race at Randwick racecourse this Saturday.

McEvoy is undefeated in this race since it’s induction back in 2021, clocking wins on Icebath, who is one of my favourite horses of all time in racing which you would definitely know if you have been following my free horse racing tips for some time. He then took out last year’s edition of the race on Promise of Success.

The booking he gets for this year’s edition, Chris Waller’s Espiona, comes into this race after taking out the Group 2 Golden Pendant and then running seventh in The Everest.

As for current standings, Espiona is a $3.50 favourite across the Aussie betting sites followed closely behind by Magic Time at $4.00 and Opal Ridge at $7.00.

McEvoy also rides Cap Ferrat in the Spring Champion Stakes on Saturday. One of the Group 1 races at Randwick this Saturday. Cap Ferrat comes off a smart third placing in the Gloaming Stakes and is the fourth favourite for the race on Saturday. He also has a bunch of other very astutely placed rides and I will be sure to outline them in my Saturday tips so stay tuned.

Magic Time well placed for The Invitation

Grahame Begg’s Magic Time is a close second favourite for Saturday’s The Invitation after taking out her second Group 3 race and her fourth overall win in six starts.

Big news has come around after Nash Rawiller, who rode her to victory last time out in The Nivision, was suspended this past weekend and now Grahame has confirmed that Tyler Schiller has been booked for the ride this weekend.

Magic time is a $4.00 chance across the Aussie betting sites after Espiona who is a $3.50 favourite across the Aussie betting apps.

Saturday will be the third time that The Invitation has been run and it is going to be a high level race with at least four group 1 races winners likely to line up in the field. Keep tracking our website for Saturday tips as I will run through my best bets tips for that race in my free horse racing tips closer to the time.

Quick look at Spring Champion Stakes Day

The feature of the day and one of the better group 1 races of the season in the Spring Champion Stakes is set to be run over the 2000m and Tom Kitten is Godolphin’s $2.50 favourite in that race across the Aussie betting sites with filly Tutta La Vita receiving heaps of early market support across the Aussie horse racing bookmakers.

The Invitation that we have run through in this article see Waller’s Espiona as a $3.50 favourite followed by Magic Time for the Begg stable close behind at $4.00 and then Opal Ridge filling third line of betting at $7.00 across the Aussie betting apps.

There is also the Group 2 three-year-olds race in the Calendar-Presnell, a 1600m race that sees Arctic Glamour as an early $2.50 favourite across the aussie betting sites.

Finally, another notable race this Saturday is the group three Craven plate, run over 1800m that has a very strong field with Group 1 races winners Fireburn, Huetor and No Compromise all likely to start in the race.
