Knight’s Choice’s big win, Shinn takes the Premiership lead as Mogo Magic remains undefeated

Below we take a look at the latest from this past weekend in Horse Racing betting off the back of our Free horse racing tips doing quite nicely with our roughie of the day, Knight’s Order saluting at $15 everywhere in the feature race of the day, the black type Winx Guineas. We also take a look at Shinn’s massive day at Flemington Racecourse on Saturday and then finally take a look at the ever so progressive Mogo Magic’s future prospects and a review of his Saturday run.

Knight’s Choice’s Group 1 racing potential

Acclaimed Australian trainer Sheila Laxon put on an absolutely incredible display with the always rapidly improving Knight’s Choice in the Group 3 Winx Guineas at the Sunshine Coast this Saturday when dominantly winning by lengths seemingly with ease and we had him in our Saturday racing tips at around $15.00 across all the Aussie betting sites.

He is a seriously nice horse, they offered a million bucks to the owners to sell this horse and they didn't take it…To do what he did today was awesome, he just won so easily " Laxon said.

It’s hard to believe that just over two months ago Knight’s Choice failed to win a Kilcoy Maiden but he has well and truly announced himself as a Melbourne Spring Carnival contender off the back of this.

This was his fourth win in a row in equally dominant fashion to all of the last three but now in Group 3 company and Laxon says she was always confident he was going to win on his home track as Sheila co trains with John Symons at the Sunshine Coast racecourse.

Two months ago, Knight's Choice could not win a modest Kilcoy maiden but announced himself as a serious horse and a potential Melbourne spring carnival contender with an epic Guineas trouncing on the Sunshine Coast.

Fashion Legend had gone for home in the 1600m contest but Knight's Choice went whoosh in sensational style and won easily.

It was the emerging three-year-old's fourth win in a row – all in dominant fashion – and owners now have extra reason to smile after recently knocking back big offers to sell the Extreme Choice gelding.

Freedman’s odds on favourite Soothsayer pulled up with cardiac Arythma and finished an 18 length last but other than that there were no excuses for the field who were simply outclased by Knight’s Choice. I can’t wait to see where he will next be placed.

Blake Shinn takes the lead in the Melbourne Jockey’s Premiership

Blake Shinn has steadily been on his way to the top of the Melbourne jockeys’ premiership but on Saturday he flew to the top of the leaderboard with a treble of wins, winning two of the four listed races on the card.
The wins on Saturday saw him go out to 62 city winners and go past the sidelined Jamie Kah who hasn’t been seen since a fall at Flemington on March 11th when sustaining a concussion that has kept her out since. Kah aims to be back racing later this month which should only heat up the race again.

"It feels good but at the end of the day I haven't been one to really look at the scoreboard and focusing on that, my job has been to ride winners," Shinn said.

Shinn scored four winners last Saturday at Caulfield as well with some of those runners coming for this past week’s assignments, Renosu took out the AR Creswick Stakes and First Immortal took out the Mahogany Series Final. Shinn also scored a mssive win on Mnementh at big odds in the Listed Satana Ana Lane Stakes and it was a mighty ride.

Shinn now has four city meetings beofre the end of the season as he starts a two week ban for careless riding. The last meeting of the season is on July 28th and he should be going into that in very good stead.

Looking at his winners from our horse racing best bets he rode the Cummings trained Renosu an easy win when finding the lead and dictating the pace, controlling the race and scoring easily. He ever impressively scored on First Immortal who gave his rivals more than 6kg in the Mahogany Series Final and still dominated them.

Mogo Magic gets the money to stay undefeated down under

We had Mogo Magic in our Free horse racing tips and our best bets tips and wow what a dominant display it was from the country star to bring him to the forefront of the state’s best runners after making his undefeated streak even greater at Rosehill Racecourse on Saturday.

This win extends the Collings trained runner’s perfect record to four wins from four starts when he clocked an impressive all the way win as a $1.75 favourite.

He did it with top weight and with a speedy on pace run that saw him challenged in the straight but he had far too much class for them and stormed home.

"It was his first time at 1100m too so it went very well… They served it up to him early and he was too good for them with the 60kg”, Collings said.

He looks very primed to move onto a Kosciuszko run later in the year, with Collins having trained multiple Kosciuszko runners over the years.

"That's our target," Collings said

Hong Kong had already come calling after his third consecutive win before this race but connections are too keen to see him line up in The Kosciuszko later this year on Everest Day and I am very happy that it looks like we will now be seeing that happen. I am a big fan of this horse and am keen to follow him anywhere he goes.
