I like the look of Whitsunday Session at Mackay in Race 6. Also, for my roughie bet, I've got my eye on Three Grand in Race 7 at Geelong. The track is rated a good 5 for racing at Mackay on Friday. At Geelong, the track is rated a soft 6 at this stage so look for runners that like to run on a soft track. Let's get into it!

Best Tip: Whitsunday Session #10 Mackay R6

Whitsunday Session showed some promise at Rockhampton last time. In it's last start, Whitsunday Session placed 3rd out of 11 in a Cls 1 on July 13 over 1100m, on a soft track, just 1.5 lengths behind Everlasting Stars (59kg) with 55kg at $2.70. Previously, 1st of 5 at Rockhampton Barrier Trial-Class 1 on July 1, 2024 over 900m. Has a 50% career win rate so it knows how to win. Loves the distance and I hope that continues over the 1100m. Plenty of winning form on wet tracks. Should enjoy running first-up as has been the case in it's career. In winning form, don't look past it.

Best Roughie: Three Grand #9 Geelong R7

Last start, finished 3rd of 11 at Mt Gambier in a BM70 over 1200m, just 3.0 lengths behind Crackle 'N' Burn (53.5kg) carrying 54.5kg at $8.50. Previously, 3rd of 12 at Cranbourne RST64 on June 23, 2024 over 1000m. Has enjoyed plenty of success at Geelong with a 100% record of finishing in the top-three. The wet track should pose no problems. In good form at the moment, so hopefully that continues.
