Last race, Bold Print ran a place (2nd) at Moonee Valley over 955m, just finishing behind the winner (Projeto (59.5kg)). Should get a lot of confidence from that run and should be a good bet again. That was his first run at Moonee Valley, making him one of the dangers for sure. Very good stats when it's racing at this 955m distance, already 3 wins in 6 starts. Jason Maskiell is back on board and looking for his 4th win on board this runner, I wouldn’t back against him.

Bogues comes off a dominant win at Geelong over 2255m, beating the field by 6 lengths. He looks like he’ll enjoy the extra trip at the Valley on Friday night and he has placed at this distance before. Craig Newitt is back in the saddle and looking to make it back to back wins. After that win at Geelong, I think he offers good value in this race if he gets a good run.

Last Saturday was another great day of racing around Australia and it was headlined by The Gong (1600m) at Kembla Grange. Gringotts, trained by Ciaron Maher, held off the field to win by 0.8 lengths in a stunning finish. While over in Perth, Port Lockroy won the Railway Stakes at Ascot Racecourse for the Annabel Neasham stable.

This week, the Group 1 races continue in Western Australia with the Winterbottom Stakes on Saturday afternoon.
