Best Tip: Williamsburg #12 Randwick R8

Ready to hit peak form now. Came 2nd last start at Randwick with J Parr in the saddle. Previously, 2nd of 10 at Newcastle Open on May 11, 2024 over 1600m, behind Magnaspin (54kg) with 56.5kg at $8.50. Likes this track having won twice in 11 starts and and should enjoy the track conditions. Good value odds at PlayUp, Chasebet and Questbet.

Best Roughie: Watadeel #13 Flemington R8

Previously, it finished 5th of 15 at Sandown-Hillside in a BM84 on May 25, 2024 over 1400m, 2.4 lengths behind Le Ferrari (56.5kg). So should be fitter for the run here. Has a positive 2nd up record, having placed in 2 of 3 career starts. Also, has won at the track before back in November, 2023 on a good track with Jamie Kah on board. So hopefully it can recapture that form on Saturday in R8 for a value each way bet.

Stats and Insights

  • Randwick is a very wide track with a good run-in that makes it one of the fairest tracks around. It’s hard to say backmarkers are advantaged, but they are the closest thing to advantaged at Randwick Racecourse.
  • Flemington's long straight track can sometimes favour horses drawn towards the inside or outside of the track, depending on the rail position and prevailing track conditions. Betting on horses that suit the current track bias can be advantageous.
  • The first 3-4 races in most meetings are called "Maidens" and these races are usually risky and unpredictable. This is because the runners are usually making their debut or have only had a few starts. So it's advisable to stay from these races unless you have a good bankroll.
