Last time out at Hawkesbury, Gold Dust was right up there with the leaders and put in a solid effort. He showed great speed and battled on fairly well. This time, I think he's got a more favourable draw, which should give him a better shot. With that advantage, he's definitely among the dangers and one to watch closely. In his last start, Gold Dust was 58.5kg and ended up finishing 2nd, behind Nightingale (59.5kg) over 1100m after being right in the thick of things around the corner. Previously, 5th of 9 at Randwick Barrier Trial-Open on June 28, 2024 over 1050m. Very good career record in second-up situations. In winning form, don't look past it.

The Wyong racecourse is near circular, offering runners with more dynamic run styles and those that handle bendy tracks a big advantage, also gives those close to the rail an advantage in sprints.
The first 3-4 races in most meetings are called "Maidens" and these races are usually risky and unpredictable. This is because the runners are usually making their debut or have only had a few starts. So it's advisable to stay from these races unless you have a good bankroll.
