Meanwhile, my roughie of the day is Ready To Shine at Scone in Race 9. At Sale, the track is rated a soft 6 at this stage so look for runners that like to run on a soft track. The track is rated a good 5 for racing at Scone on Tuesday. Let's get into it!

Best Tip: A Votre Sante #5 Sale R6

Last race was a 3rd place finish at Ballarat over 2000m Previously, 4th of 16 at Warrnambool BM64 on May 1, 2024 over 1700m. Loves the distance and I hope that continues. Has enjoyed success in wet conditions and the track conditions should be suitable. Previously has had plenty of success when it's running third-up, so just another reason to get on board.

Best Roughie: Ready To Shine #2 Scone R9

Ready to hit peak form now. Came 2nd last start at Randwick with Rachel King in the saddle. Previously, 1st of 8 at Gosford Mdn on May 16, 2024 over 1100m. Has a 50% career win rate so it knows how to win. Loves the distance and I hope that continues here in R9 on Tuesday. Has enjoyed plenty of success in wet conditions and the track conditions on Tuesday should be nice. Has had success when running second-up too, so I like its chances on Tuesday.

Stats and Insights

  • When racing at Sale Racecourse specifically out of the 1000m and 1200m chutes the course features a long straight followed by a large sweeping turn which means runners that draw outside of barrier 10 are disadvantaged by at least a length.
  • The first 3-4 races in most meetings are called "Maidens" and these races are usually risky and unpredictable. This is because the runners are usually making their debut or have only had a few starts. So it's advisable to stay from these races unless you have a good bankroll.
  • Scone racecourse is known for it's long home straight of 400 metres.
