The Autumn Group 1 races season is pretty much at it’s peak this weekend with massive Group 1 races in NSW this weekend as the Doncaster Mile is before us with an $11 million card at Randwick. It’s going to be a big day of racing with bumper cards set for Randwick racecourse, Eagle Farm racecourse and Caulfield racecourse. 2nd: 1, 2, 3, 6
Risky race overall but I do think that there are two clear favourites with the #1 being my next best bet of the day at the course and the #3 being joint favourite in the market. Other selections go in for second in case one of them bombs out. Full write up in my Saturday tips at Caulfield.
Exacta - Randwick - R5
1st: 1, 2, 8, 9
2nd: 1, 2, 8, 9
My roughie bet of the day steps out here in the #9 who comes in at a big price and is probably the biggest odds horse I have backed in some time but I am quite keen on him irrespective of the odds. Exacta - Eagle Farm - R3
1st: 12
2nd: 2, 7, 11
We have been going very well with this type of exotic bet, hitting back hard on a couple close misses by winning in the listed racing this last week at Randwick and I am keen to keep things going here this Saturday. - Trifecta betting can prove extremely lucrative when a higher odds runner fills any of the spots in the trifecta as it massively boosts the total odds.
- 50% of runners that finish first in the trifecta were placed in their start prior
- More than 65% of runners that finish second in trifectas finished 1st-5th in their start prior
- A simple way of comparing two horses that you are considering adding into your exacta / trifecta is to add their placings from the last four starts and take the smaller of the two
