Canterbury R1 - Schweppes Mdn Hcp (1250m)

Selections:
#1 - Autumnmation (BEST BET)  - $2.10
#4 - Rip Off  - $3.30
#6 - Overview - $4.60
#2 - Jamais - $13.00

BEST BET - #1 - Autumnmation (BEST BET)
Surely Autumnmation breaks through here at start number six for Chris Waller after recording three close runner up placings with some of them being in very strong competition. He most recently came off of a 16 week break where he stayed inside and chased hard for a rail hugging place. He should have plenty to offer off the back of that and is the one to beat for me.

THE DANGER - #4 - Rip Off
Rip Off has to rate as a key threat for the Godolphin camp. He resumed off of a 17 week break from racing a couple weeks back at Kensington in the midweeks where he came from not easiest of spots when posted out wide to weave a path and power home in a flash effort late where he finished just behind the placegetters. He shapes up very well with upside and fitness off the back of that and should be running home well here again.

VALUE BET  - #2 - Jamais
Jamais has had just the one career start for the Carmody stable but has to be given some sort of chance here and I think is over the odds coming into this. He gets in at limit weight here after the claim from Bourke and the way he stepped out on debut at The Valley was very sharp when coming off the fence in the straight to jet home into 2nd place. Go well.

Canterbury R3 - Ranvet Mdn Plate (1100m)

Selections:
#6 - Amoreaux - $2.40
#2 - Marchesi  - $4.00
#8 - Silver Cliff - $5.00
#5 - Peaceful Prince (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)  - $7.00

BEST BET - #6 - Amoreaux
Another sharp favourite here for Chris Waller in Amoreaux who comes into this third up and ready to go over for the maiden win at start number five. He placed very well when resuming from a 20 week break at Beaumont when looking the winner a long way before bumping into one smart horse before stepping out three weeks between runs and again looking very sharp when powering home into the placings. He shapes up well here third up and should be tough to beat.

THE DANGER - #2 - Marchesi
Marchesi rates highly here for the Hawkes camp and has only had the two career starts but has been sharp in both of them and now comes back to racing off of a 14 week break but with the benefit of a sharp trial in between. He stepped out at Rosehill a week ago in the company of some smart horses but was ridden with some vigour and won that trial very well. He’s been revved up for start one and can make an impact here.

VALUE BET  - #5 - Peaceful Prince (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Peaceful Prince has had just the career debut for Annabel Neasham but shapes up well off the back of it. The debut came two weeks ago at Kembla Grange over the 1000m where he took a sit two wide with no cover behind the speed but worked to the middle of the track in the straight and found the line very well when only beaten by one horse. Rates highly here.

Canterbury R6 - Earthlight First Yearlings (Bm72) (1550m)

Selections:
#2 - Amati (NEXT BEST) - $3.50
#4 - Cirebon - $3.30
#1 - Ella Te Ama - $4.80
#3 - Arale - $8.00

BEST BET - #2 - Amati (NEXT BEST)
I think that Amati narrowly goes on top here for Chris Waller and can win this race without surprising. He last stepped out at this track and trip where he set right at the back of the field and wasn’t a winning threat from out there but after being held up at the turn he found a split at the 200m and drove away to grab the minor placing there. He should get a much softer time of things this time round and based off of his rating out of that he should be winning now.

THE DANGER - #4 - Cirebon
Sara Ryan seems to have a good horse on her hands in Cirebon who has been absolutely flying this time in. He won at Scone over the 1300m second up before clocking a good placing subsequently and then stepping out at this track and trip last time out where he got the win in fine fashion. Hard fit now, if there’s steam in the tank still, he can take this out.

VALUE BET - #1 - Ella Te Ama
Smart horse here for Kris Lees in Ella Te Ama who also gets in very light for this assignment and I think all things considered, dropping back from Saturday grade she should be able to make an impression here. She last raced at Rosehill a couple weeks ago when coming from behind the speed to jet home and finish just behind the placegetters where she was strong through the line. Hard fit third up, back in depth, can win now.

Multi Tips For Canterbury

I think that we have to tread lightly with a multi on such a competitive day of racing with so many of these horses having been geared for the races on this card. As such, I have given favour to those horses who have drawn good gates, are well weighted and who have top jockeys on as these factors can be all the advantage you need for a win in the circumstances. Best Promotions for Canterbury Racecourse

Promotions are traditionally the primary way for punters to create an edge over the bookies, as they can save your cash when your runner fails to win, in the instance of Unibet they often offer 2nd and 3rd money back in bonus bets for a selection of races on the midweek and Provincial racing days. Coupled with their generous odds I have to put them as the top bookie promotion wise at the moment for Australian racing.

If you are looking for the best promotions this week for Wednesday's racing I wouldn’t look past Unibet, often they offer odds boosts in addition to the money back promotions. Don’t forget to check your account as well for personal offers.

Promotions often change so make sure you sign up at unibet.com.au to see what promotions are applicable to you and you may even be surprised to find some promotions that weren’t mentioned here!
