Canterbury R4 - TAB (Bm72) (1250m)

Selections:
#2 - Molly Nails (NEXT BEST) - $2.35
#3 - Look Only - $5.00
#1 - Edna - $5.50
#6 - Wolves - $6.00

BEST BET - #2 - Molly Nails (NEXT BEST)
Molly Nails has the runs on board for the Dale camp and rates very highly coming a long way back in depth here. She comes out of a strong Saturday grade race at Randwick where she set towards the rear seven lengths off of the leaders and had to come on from not the easiest of spots when flying home to run home well into fourth behind MIss Hellfire who is an extremely sharp horse. She should have this lot covered.

THE DANGER - #3 - Look Only
Look Only is the main threat here for Joe Azzopardi and he comes here after last racing at this track and trip three weeks ago where he raced very bravely when swerving through runners to take the lead and held it very well to only just be overrun late by one sharp horse. He clocked solid time then, draws well again here and is hard fit.

VALUE BET  - #6 - Wolves
Wolves has never been out of the placings when second up before and seems to have returned in the best form he can. He came off of a massive 57 week spell when last running in a strong midweek Kensington race and powering home to place third. That was a promising return to racing and he now gets in at limit weight, draws much better, fitter and gets a better draw.

Canterbury R5 - Ranvet (Bm72) (1900m)

Selections:
#2 - Edmond - $6.50
#1 - Roma Avenue - $2.50
#7 - The Englishman (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) - $8.50
#4 - Heika - $10.00

BEST BET - #2 - Edmond
I think that the grounding we get tomorrow at Canterbury is the key to Edmond clocking another win this campaign. He is just such a powerful horse for the Waugh stable and has proven that when stepping out on the Heavy last time out where he and the winner put a space on the rest of the field. He’s never run poorly on this grounding, is hard fit and flying, Nash aboard is a bonus.

THE DANGER - #1 - Roma Avenue
Roma Avenue is chasing three in a row here after putting together back to back wins at the Hawkesbury and he has to be given some level of respect given he was 1400m out to 1800m last time out and it didn’t seem to bother him at all when leading them and kicking away strongly at the 300m. He didn’t beat all that much there but gee the way he did so is hard to ignore.

VALUE BET  - #7 - The Englishman (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
You have to lend some sort of chance to The Englishman who is competing so far back in grade here after last stepping out two weeks back at Randwick in a very solid 78 race where he couldn’t get any luck, was constantly crowded for runs and was still able to run home well just behind the placegetters. The win before that at Rosehill was sharp and I think he is a very good horse who’s best is above these.

Canterbury R6 - James Squire (Bm64) (1550m)

Selections:
#8 - Mare Of Mt Buller (BEST BET) - $3.00
#6 - Bangetta - $3.50
#4 - Cirebon - $5.00
#5 - Gold Pattern - $9.50

BEST BET - #8 - Mare Of Mt Buller (BEST BET)
Can the Mare from northern Sydney go back to back for Chris Waller? On splits from her last start I am tempted to say yes she can. She resumed off of a 23 week spell at Kembla Grange last time out when setting ten lengths off of the leader before absolutely flying home to win so well. She looks better than a provincial horse, gets Jmac and 1400m out to 1550m is positive. Looks beautifully placed.

THE DANGER - #6 - Bangetta
I have always been a fan of Bangetta for Kris Lees and she is flying this time in and I see no reason why she doesn’t run another very good race here. She won first up when resuming at Beaumont before overcoming a tough run at Scone last time out to place runner up and then hitting back hard over the 1400m at Scone last time out. Hard fit, in form and gets Dyl Gib on, well placed as well.

VALUE BET - #5 - Gold Pattern
Surely Gold Pattern is over the odds here for John Thompson. He recorded a very sharp runner up placing when resuming at Kembla three back and put the writing on the wall before stepping out at Newcastle and winning strongly over the 1400m in a race that has had a few winners emerge since. Last time out he was able to overcome a tough run when posted deep and wide to run home just behind the placegetters but he gets another chance to win here.

Multi Tips For Canterbury

I think that we have to tread lightly with a multi on such a competitive day of racing with so many of these horses having been geared for the races on this card. As such, I have given favour to those horses who have drawn good gates, are well weighted and who have top jockeys on as these factors can be all the advantage you need for a win in the circumstances. Best Promotions for Canterbury Racecourse

Promotions are traditionally the primary way for punters to create an edge over the bookies, as they can save your cash when your runner fails to win, in the instance of Unibet they often offer 2nd and 3rd money back in bonus bets for a selection of races on the midweek and Provincial racing days. Coupled with their generous odds I have to put them as the top bookie promotion wise at the moment for Australian racing.

If you are looking for the best promotions this week for Wednesday's racing I wouldn’t look past Unibet, often they offer odds boosts in addition to the money back promotions. Don’t forget to check your account as well for personal offers.

Promotions often change so make sure you sign up at unibet.com.au to see what promotions are applicable to you and you may even be surprised to find some promotions that weren’t mentioned here!
