Canterbury R1 - Schweppes Mdn Plate (1550m)

Selections:
#4 - Mogwai (BEST BET) - $1.80
#1 - Thermodynamic - $4.20
#2 - Whatadilemma - $10.00
#5 - Northern Eyes - $10.00

BEST BET - #4 - Mogwai (BEST BET)
Mogwai looks like he’s going to be tough to beat here unless he bombs out. He’s had two runs this time in for the Godolphin stable and has come very close in each of them with two runner up placings, both at Kensington at the midweeks and both in some strong competition. Back a bit in depth now, hard fit, surely wins.

THE DANGER - #1 - Thermodynamic
Thermodynamic has heaps of upside coming here for Chris Waller and should be strong. He resumed off of a 17 week break from racing last time out when battling home in the straight with clear air a couple weeks back at Kensington to place third. He will be sharper for that run, fitter and can go over here.

VALUE BET  - #2 - Whatadilemma
I think that Whatadilemma has hardly put a foot wrong in his few starts to date for the Ryan and Alexiou camp and he will be strong here in resuming based off the way he is trialling. He’s been placed in five of his six career starts and has had two trials to lead him back into racing and the way he won his last trial effort suggests he’s going to be flying here first up. Watch what the market does with him.

Canterbury R4 - Jamberoo Action Park (Bm72) (1550m)

Selections:
#4 - Jumeirah Beach - $4.20
#2 - Willinga Freefall - $3.10
#5 - Bluff 'N' Bluster - $8.50
#6 - The Replicant (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)  - $9.00

BEST BET - #4 - Jumeirah Beach
I think that at the price Jumeirah Beach is a very nice betting spot on this card for the Freedman’s and he should be strong here. He’s building a nice record with four wins in thirteen starts and looks to be at his peak now after winning third up at The Hawkesbury last time out where he found the front at the 200m and powered away from the field for a soft win. Schiller aboard, good gate, rates highly here.

THE DANGER - #2 - Willinga Freefall
Willinga Freefall is a smart animal for Kris Lees that should be approaching his peak third up here. He showed big improvements when first to second up and stepping out at Kensington last time out where he was held up for a run until the 250m but when the split came he was flying home to place third there in a run that was luckless. He will be sharper now third up and with a bit more luck will be going very close.

VALUE BET  - #6 - The Replicant (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
The Replicant has to be a winning chance here for Joe Pride after dropping massively back in grade / depth. His last few runs have come in some tough contests at Rosehill in Saturday company and the most recent of which I thought was full of merit when he only got clear air in the final 200m and was absolutely thundering to the line to place third behind Clear Choice. Those formlines are the best of the race so I think he only goes well here.

Canterbury R7 - Star Turn @ Vinery Stud (Bm72) (1100m)

Selections:
#5 - Louisville (NEXT BEST) - $2.70
#7 - Lancaster Bomber - $5.50
#2 - Anythink Goes - $10.00
#6 - Walkin'talkin' - $6.50

BEST BET - #5 - Louisville (NEXT BEST)
I have to be in the corner for Louisville for Chris Waller and Jmac who resumes here off of a 17 week break and whilst he hasn’t shown much in the trials leading up to his return I just think he’s got too much class here. Most of his runs have come in Saturday grade and he’s beat the likes of Aristonous in his Winter campaign earlier this year. Rates well above this field and I think he will assert some level of dominance here.

THE DANGER - #7 - Lancaster Bomber
Lancaster Bomber will make this a race, coming far back in grade / depth and I think he rates highly here and generally does his best work when deep into his prep like we see now. His most recent run came in Saturday grade at Randwick where he jumped awkwardly and did things tough out wide but still found enough to give a strong kick in the straight to finish midfield. He rarely runs poorly and is well back in competition level now so should be strong here.

VALUE BET - #2 - Anythink Goes
Anythink Goes has been trialling too well to ignore and I am keen to see how he goes here when resuming. He hasn’t been seen at the races since Mid July when producing an end of prep run at Rosehill in some tough company but comes here off the back of three trials with the most recent of which being a very sharp trial win at Warwick Farm. One for the exotics.

I think that we have to tread lightly with a multi on such a competitive day of racing with so many of these horses having been geared for the races on this card. As such, I have given favour to those horses who have drawn good gates, are well weighted and who have top jockeys on as these factors can be all the advantage you need for a win in the circumstances. Best Promotions for Canterbury Racecourse

Promotions are traditionally the primary way for punters to create an edge over the bookies, as they can save your cash when your runner fails to win, in the instance of Unibet they often offer 2nd and 3rd money back in bonus bets for a selection of races on the midweek and Provincial racing days. Coupled with their generous odds I have to put them as the top bookie promotion wise at the moment for Australian racing.

If you are looking for the best promotions this week for Wednesday's racing I wouldn’t look past Unibet, often they offer odds boosts in addition to the money back promotions. Don’t forget to check your account as well for personal offers.

Promotions often change so make sure you sign up at unibet.com.au to see what promotions are applicable to you and you may even be surprised to find some promotions that weren’t mentioned here!
