Friday Racing Tips - Cranbourne Racecourse 29/03/24

Racing returns to Cranbourne again this Friday for a great eight race card under the lights and we have $380,000 of prize money on offer across the card with some high level debutants at the races in VIC this Friday evening as well as some horses who are deeper into their preps and I am very keen on this card so let’s get stuck into things!

Cranbourne R4 - Hertz Hcp (C1) (1300m)

Selections:
#1 - War Machine (NEXT BEST) - $4.40
#7 - Real Alliance - $4.40
#2 - Willabilloo - $6.00
#4 - Mishare - $5.50

BEST BET - #1 - War Machine (NEXT BEST)
I think that War Machine likely goes on with things here and should be performing strongly for the Moroney camp coming here for his fourth career start. He returned to racing off of a 27 week spell when stepping out over the 1225m at Kyneton and hitting the line hard in the late stages of the race to find the front at the 75m and never let go of the lead then. He shapes up very well with upside off the back of that and despite finding a competitive race here I think he’s the leading contender.

THE DANGER - #7 - Real Alliance
I feel as though Luke Oliver’s stable has been kind of quiet lately but I know this horse from back last year and I think that he has to be respected stepping out here first up off of a long 45 week break from racing. He went away a winner back in May last year when blitzing a field as favourite over the Mile at Moe and generally geos well with fresh legs. Stackhouse in the saddle should prove a reliable combination as well and I am keen to see what he does upon resuming here.

VALUE BET  - #2 - Willabilloo
All you can do is win and that is all we have to go by with Willabilloo who has had just the one run in his career thus far where he stepped out at Werribee at the beginning of December last year and really made his mark when taking over from deep in the run at the 200m mark and despite losing a plate he fought on very strongly to draw away in a good debut win in a soft field. This is a much tougher contest than that was though but I think he’s up to the task.

Cranbourne R5 - Hertz Hcp (64) (1200m)

Selections:
#3 - Brier - $2.00
#1 - Explosive Thinker - $5.50
#8 - A Hidden Treasure (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) - $7.00
#2 - Bangholme - $10.00

BEST BET - #3 - Brier
Brier looks like a very well placed favourite for the Jusufovic camp coming into this race. He was four weeks between runs when stepping out here a fortnight ago and bouncing straight to the front where he was never in doubt from there, getting way too far in front for them to catch him. The track has a strong front runner bias and he maps to get way out in front again, can prove too much for these with almost no weight on his back after the claim from Keane.

THE DANGER - #1 - Explosive Thinker
Explosive Thinker has gotten no luck in his past two outings but I think that the runs are a lot better than they read on paper and with any luck here he could be breaking through. Two back at The Valley he was held up at a crucial stage when never really given the clear air to come on before stepping out at the same track again last time out and doing too much work early in the run from the wide gate before just fading late. He will be hard fit off the back of that run and can go over here.

VALUE BET  - #8 - A Hidden Treasure
I do think that there is more to offer here for A Hidden Treasure third up after not the best outing for the Harrisson camp when he clearly had a bit of second up syndrome. He was very sharp on debut when belting a field at Moe to break maiden at start one before just becoming unbalanced throughout the run last time out and also having to overcome some traffic early before Hefel put the brakes on late and he was eased down. He will have more upside third up and should have plenty to offer here.

Cranbourne R8 - Hertz (Bm64) (1000m)

Selections:
#2 - Nokhbah (BEST BET) - $3.80
#3 - Rubicon Crossing - $5.00
#5 - I Miss Margie - $7.00
#4 - Charmed Run - $7.50

BEST BET - #2 - Nokhbah (BEST BET)
Nokhbah looks like a very progressive horse for the Hayes boys who comes into this third up and ready to fire off the back of two solid runs this time in. He really got going last time out when second up at The Valley where he joined the leaders at the 200m before powering away to just miss the win in second place. He only needs to run up to that effort to be prominent here.

THE DANGER - #3 - Rubicon Crossing
Always have to respect Walker taking over training duties for Australian horses and this guy comes back to racing off of a 13 week break and both of his career wins have come when fresh and first up so he has to be given a look here. He last stepped out at this trip at Mornington first up when improving throughout the run to take control before the turn and never let anything back into the race. He gets a big claim from Keane aboard to offset top weight and he can replicate that last first up run here.

VALUE BET - #4 - Charmed Run
Charmed Run is another one of Luke Oliver’s representatives tomorrow and I am lending plenty of respect to all of the stable’s runners at the course tomorrow. He is a smart animal who has already won two from five and both of those wins have come first up so I think he rates highly here. He loves this track and trip and with Moor in the saddle he is a definite winning chance here.

Jockey Of The Day – Jye Mcniel

He has also received the Victoria Racing Club's Champion Jockey Award in two consecutive seasons (2019/20 and 2020/21), underscoring his reputation as one of Victoria's finest jockeys. He is known to perform exceptionally well on major race days, and he has secured a significant number of rides for this weekend's racing at Cranbourne Park Lakeside, I have outlined them all below:

R1 - #2 - El Patroness - $2.45
R3 - #6 - Manhattan Thunder - $12.00
R5 - #4 - Toronto Terrier - $6.10

Multi Tips For Cranbourne Racecourse

One of the most significant considerations in picking up multiple winners is the track bias, which favors horses that don’t get too far back in the run at Flemington Racecourse. As a result, horses drawn on the inside have a better chance of performing well compared to those drawn towards the outside. I have factored in this aspect when making my multi bets, taking into account the horses' respective preps and their drawn barrier positions. Follow below for a multi to track over race day!

Cranbourne R8 - #2 - Nokhbah - PLC $1.70
Cranbourne R4 - #1 - War Machine - PLC $1.65
Cranbourne R5 - #8 - A Hidden Treasure- PLC $2.15

Total Odds = $6.00
$50 Stake = $300.00 Return!

Best Promotions for Cranbourne Racecourse

Promotions are traditionally the primary way for punters to create an edge over the bookies, as they can save your cash when your runner fails to win, in the instance of Unibet they often offer 2nd and 3rd money back in bonus bets for a selection of races on the midweek and Provincial racing days. Coupled with their generous odds I have to put them as the top bookie promotion wise at the moment for Australian racing.

If you are looking for the best promotions this week for Wednesday's racing I wouldn’t look past Unibet, often they offer odds boosts in addition to the money back promotions. Don’t forget to check your account as well for personal offers.

Promotions often change so make sure you sign up at unibet.com.au to see what promotions are applicable to you and you may even be surprised to find some promotions that weren’t mentioned here!
