Friday Racing Tips - Cranbourne Racecourse 29/11/23

Friday nights under the lights at Cranbourne and we have an eight race card with $320k prize money on offer and I have run through the card and picked out my best betting spots and outlined them below. Follow me below for a solid night of Victorian racing!

BEST BET - #11 - Runaway Statement (NEXT BEST)
Runaway Statement looks well placed to roll the favourite here for Phillip Stokes and I think will honestly go very well here. He’s third up here to kick his career off and made big improvements between runs, still should have more upside and gets in light here and with Spain aboard it all looks a very good set up. Just needs some luck from the inside.

THE DANGER - #2 - Kiko
Kiko is another horse who looks well placed in this field but is just a bit too short for me, however he isn’t being backed without reason. He resumed off of a 27 week spell last time out at The Valley as a short priced favourite and lost his momentum when being held up from the 400m - 200m and couldn’t get properly going again. He rates highly off the back of that and will be stronger second up now.

VALUE BET  - #10 - Nicoise Girl 
Nicoise Girl has to be respected on debut here for Chris Waller combining with Luke Currie and getting in at limit weight. She hasn’t had any public trials but her jumpout work has been very sharp but does draw wide and will need some luck.

BEST BET - #6 - Elouyou
Eloyou continues to improve between runs and I think is a promising horse for the Cameron camp. He comes here off the back of a belting win where he found the lead at Geelong and never looked like relinquishing it, kicking to win sharply. He was three weeks between runs there and now comes into this another three weeks between runs, stable seems to be getting to know the horse well and I think he can win again.

THE DANGER - #3 - Masterful
Masterful takes a big step back in competition here and gets top weight offset by a 3kg claimer and I think all things considered he should run very well here and is a definite winning chance. He comes back from a run in Saturday company at Caulfield when never being tested when held up for a few hundred meters where he should have finished much closer. That’s the A1 form for this.

VALUE BET  - #1 - Legionnaire (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
I think you have to give respect to Legionnaire here? He comes out of a BM70 in Saturday grade at Caulfield where he really didn’t do much but prior to then he ran very impressively at Sandown and I think he does do better work on the tighter tracks. Big step back in competition, wouldn’t shock if he won.

BEST BET - #1 - Gin O'clock (BEST BET)
Gin O’clock is a good horse I think the Hayes have got their hands on. He was brought over from the UK by the boys and has taken a couple runs to get going but after the electrifying win last time out I think he is going to go on with it and whilst he didn’t beat much there has been a subsequent winner out of that race but it was more the dominance he did things with then. He now gets here hard fit and in form.

THE DANGER - #4 - Master Right
Favourite and obvious danger for Annabel Neasham is Master Right who has had two runs back from a 23 week spell and has gone very close in both. He now comes into this third up and ready to peak off the back of a very close runner up placing over 1400m last time out. Stockdale sticks and getting out to this trip looks to have been the target.

VALUE BET - #3 - Jenniferwish
I actually think Jenniferwish is quite a good bet if you are looking outside the top three having placed in two of her four runs this campaign and coming into this dropping back from racing in the City at Caulfield so with all things considered she will find this level of competition a lot more contestable.

One of the most significant considerations in picking up multiple winners is the track bias, which favors horses that don’t get too far back in the run at Flemington Racecourse. As a result, horses drawn on the inside have a better chance of performing well compared to those drawn towards the outside.
