Friday Racing Tips - Lismore Racecourse 21/07/23

Racing returns to Northern NSW for what is set to be quite a nice card at Lismore and I am keen to get my tips out early this week as there looks to be some solid betting spots so if you are reading this closer to the time of racing see what the market’s done with all the runners I outline per race. As for the meeting there are nine races on the card, a handful of which are maidens that see some of the top Queensland and Northern NSW stables putting through runners and a few races in low benchmark grade. Follow me below for a great day of racing at Lismore!

Lismore R4 - Lismore Cup Thurs 21/9 Mdn (1110m)

Selections:
#5 - Wolf Point (NEXT BEST) - $3.00
#11 - Chase The Sun - $4.60
#1 - Bassac Lane - $5.00
#2 - Bowdarcie - $5.00

BEST BET - #5 - Wolf Point (NEXT BEST)
Wolf Point is a three year old gelding for the Neasham stable that has been very patiently worked along for their first start at the races. Before Gelding he was with Kacy Fogden and had some trials but then was sold to Annabel Neasham and now has had a few trials under her. The latest of which she looked to move really nicely along without being asked for too much effort. There’s already been a winner emerge from their trial two back. My only query is where they settle from the gate but there doesn’t look to be much speed in this race and Thornton can settle anywhere.

THE DANGER - #11 - Chase The Sun
Chase The Sun is having just their third start for Stephen Lee and looks to make big improvements here off the back of a first up run off a twenty week spell at Grafton two weeks ago where he set fourth in the run after finding the fence early and just kept grinding away to find the line and was eased near the turn after working hard all run and finished just outside the placings there. He now draws barrier one, will be fitter and better for the run and will surely run well.

VALUE BET  - #1 - Bassac Lane
Bassac Lane is Toby and Trent Edmonds three year old gelding who has been trialling and going back to the paddock to have more work done then coming back etc and now looks ready to make the debut a winning one. He’s had a bunch of trials at the Gold Coast and Aquis Beaudesert, the latest of which saw him find the lead and have a nice stride to hold them all off. Cahill has been on for the trials and sticks for start one and I am keen to see how they go here. I just think drawing wide might hurt his winning chances a bit.

Lismore R5 - Newton Denny Chapelle Mdn (1526m)

Selections:
#13 - Super Sweet (BEST BET) - $6.50
#2 - Enterprise Success - $4.20
#5 - Primary Witness - $5.00
#1 - Bourne - $21.00

BEST BET - #13 - Super Sweet (BEST BET)
Super Sweet is a Jeff Dunn trained four year old that came to the stable earlier this year from Stuart Kendrick and resumed off a long 41 week spell at Gatton at the beginning of May where she did more than enough on debut for the stable and has since been unlucky in a few runs but has been clocking some good splits and last time out at Kilcoy over this distance he set second two wide and kept finding the line to finish second in the run, only unable to beat the leader in an honest effort on a leaders day. He maps to get a soft run in transit from the low draw and should find plenty on the turn / in the straight.

THE DANGER - #2 - Enterprise Success
Enterprise Success is a John Shelton trained three year old that came to the stable from Maher and Eustace earlier this year and has had just the six career starts but has looked awfully close to a win in his last couple. He came off a three week break when racing two weeks ago at Grafton where he sat on the speed and gave a decent kick but couldn’t get past the leader and held third there. He will be fitter for that outing, gets in nicely weighted and gets a jockey upgrade to Wadick. Not entirely sure where they settle in the run but with any luck he will go close.

VALUE BET  - #5 - Primary Witness
Primary Witness looks like a smart three year old for Billy Healey who has has just the six career starts but looks to really be finding form off the back of his last run where he ran two weeks ago at Warwick in Queensland over the 1350m when overcoming a tough run where he was held up by shifting out wide and powering home from the outside to finish runner up there and showed big improvements then. He maps to be just off a genuine tempo and should be launching late.

Lismore R7 - Lafaro Accounting (Bm58) (1410m)

Selections:
#8 - Taikun Tommy - $6.00
#4 - Burdekin - $3.60
#3 - I'mtimmyzou (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY) - $11.00
#11 - Door Into Summer - $7.50

BEST BET - #8 - Taikun Tommy
Taikun Tommy represents the Chapman stable and has to be given another look here. He raced two weeks back at Grafton in a strong race where he set near last in the run from out wide and was held up at a crucial time, not able to improve too much in the run there. Before then he raced here over 100m less than this when making excellent headway from the back of the field to place third, beaten only a length when clocking some of the best late splits of the meeting. He looks good to go off the back of that run and will relish the extra 100m.

THE DANGER - #4 - Burdekin
Burdekin is one of many Cavanough representatives for the day at the track for the top trainer here and has to be respected combining with Nock (18% strike rate) on the current favourite Burdekin who is shouting out for a win after a bunch of consecutive close placings and gets his chance here to go one better from barrier one, with added fitness from the run over the 1200m last time out now out to 1400m all seem like a good set up and I am keen to see him run on Friday.

VALUE BET - #3 - I'mtimmyzou (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
I'mtimmyzou could get a cheap time of things from out front here. The four year old Gelding has been up for some time but has been afforded breaks between racing and has been holding form since putting together a couple wins on the bounce a few runs back and ran over the mile last time out at Coffs where he sped out to lead and only faded in the last 200m, looking strong until then. He maps to find the front again quite easily from a midfield barrier draw and back in 200m looks to be the distance he wants right now. Top chance.

He has also received the Victoria Racing Club's Champion Jockey Award in two consecutive seasons (2019/20 and 2020/21), underscoring his reputation as one of Victoria's finest jockeys. He is known to perform exceptionally well on major race days, and he has secured a significant number of rides for this weekend's racing at Lismore Park Lakeside, I have outlined them all below:

R3 - #6 - Manhattan Thunder - $12.00

Multi Tips For Lismore Racecourse

One of the most significant considerations in picking up multiple winners is the track bias, which favors horses that don’t get too far back in the run at Flemington Racecourse. As a result, horses drawn on the inside have a better chance of performing well compared to those drawn towards the outside. I have factored in this aspect when making my multi bets, taking into account the horses' respective preps and their drawn barrier positions. Follow below for a multi to track over race day!

R4 - #5 - Wolf Point - PLC $1.45
R5 - #13 - Super Sweet - PLC $2.50

Best Promotions for Lismore Racecourse

Promotions are traditionally the primary way for punters to create an edge over the bookies, as they can save your cash when your runner fails to win, in the instance of Unibet they often offer 2nd and 3rd money back in bonus bets for a selection of races on the midweek and Provincial racing days. Coupled with their generous odds I have to put them as the top bookie promotion wise at the moment for Australian racing.

If you are looking for the best promotions this week for Wednesday's racing I wouldn’t look past Unibet, often they offer odds boosts in addition to the money back promotions. Don’t forget to check your account as well for personal offers.

Promotions often change so make sure you sign up at unibet.com.au to see what promotions are applicable to you and you may even be surprised to find some promotions that weren’t mentioned here!
