Friday Racing Tips - Moonee Valley Racecourse 17/11/23

A half a million dollar card is set to take place at Moonee Valley this Friday night and we have some very high level and competitive races on the card with nine races set for tomorrow and I have gone through the card and picked out my three best betting spots of the day, I am quite excited for this card so follow me below as I run through tomorrow night’s racing at The Valley!

BEST BET - #3 - Awash (BEST BET)
Awash has been flying for Maher and Eustace and I think is not going to be slowing down now. His last two runs have come at Pakenham on the Synthetic where he clocked a very strong win before taking a three week break from racing and stepping out at Swan Hill over the mile and just grinding down the leaders to record another very strong win. Tougher contest this time round but he’s hard fit and flying.

THE DANGER - #6 - Mahrez 
Mahrez came back to racing off of a very long break last time out when resuming over the 1400m off of a 41 week break and set three deep in the run at Warrnambool before chasing strongly in the straight and overcoming a tough deep and wide run to place third there. He’s been an impressive horse in the past and will sure to make big improvements off the back of that first up run.

VALUE BET  - #2 - Whiskyontherocks
Whiskyontherocks is putting together a very handy record in his nine career starts and I think in the form he’s in he has to be respected to some degree here. He clocked a very close placing over the mile at Ballarat two back before stepping out at Swan hill over this distance again and hitting the line hard in the final 200m to win and win well then. I think he looks very well placed off that effort and should be prominent here.

BEST BET - #3 - Little Miss Kubi (NEXT BEST) 
Little Miss Kubi is a short course specialist who I think rates very highly coming back to this track and trip now. She’s got two wins and two runner up placings in six runs at this trip and comes into this off the back of some close placings in recent runs. I think hard fit, from a good draw and a not overly competitive field she only goes well here.

THE DANGER - #10 - Rubicon Crossing
I think Rubicon Crossing can hit back hard here for the Walker stable and comes into this ready to win again third up and hard fit. He resumed a winner off of a long break and that win was actually very smart before racing here last time out when just not on the right part of the track and getting a suck run but now comes into this with a better draw, good jockey on and hard fit third up.

VALUE BET  - #1 - Mamaragan 
Mamaragan is another horse who is approaching peak fitness third up and with the booking of Shinn he can’t be disrespected here. His last run came here where he showed improvements from the first up run as the blinkers came on and he was doing his own work when very strong to the line and placing second here. He now gets a jockey upgrade and will be prominent here, just has to carry the big weight.

BEST BET - #1 - A Little Deep
A Little Deep should be winning this. He’s had the three starts to kick his career off for Maher and Eustace and has been impressive in winning two of them and placing in the other. Last time out he returned off of a long 47 week break when stepping out over this distance at Moe and despite having no trials prior and coming off that huge break he was far too good for them there when winning by a space. More improvement to come second up and I think he only runs well here.

THE DANGER - #2 - Sans Doute
Sans Doute is a tough horse for the Walker camp that comes out of a forgive run at Seymour where he didn’t look himself, just being one paced all run. The start prior to then was him resuming off of a 26 week break at The Valley where he ran very honestly into second place there. I think he hits back hard here now third up and maps for a more economical run in transit.

VALUE BET - #11 - Lazy Susan (ROUGHIE OF THE DAY)
Lazy Susan should be competitive here. She’s come across to the Beddgood stable from Maher and Eustace and really seems to be enjoying life under Gavin after winning on debut for him she has put in another two meritful runs with the most recent of which being a very close placing at Moe and now comes into this hard fit, finds a beatable contest and is ready to win again.
